  • Patent number: 9844406
Abstract: Systems and methods deploy an electrode structure in contact with the tissue region. The electrode structure carries a sensor at a known location on the electrode structure to monitor an operating condition. The systems and methods provide an interface, which generate an idealized image of the electrode structure and an indicator image to represent the monitored operating condition in a spatial position on the idealized image corresponding to the location of the sensor on the electrode structure. The interface displays a view image comprising the idealized image and indicator image. The systems and methods cause the electrode structure to apply energy to heat the tissue region while the view image is displayed on the display screen.

  • Patent number: 9351787
Abstract: A sphincter treatment apparatus includes an energy delivery device introduction member including a proximal end with a first radius of curvature and a distal end with a second radius of curvature. The introduction member is configured to be introduced into the sphincter in a non-deployed state and to be expanded to a deployed state to at least partially expand the sphincter or an adjoining structure. An energy delivery device is coupled to the introduction member. A retainer member is coupled to the energy delivery device introduction member and configured to controllably position the introduction member in an orifice of the sphincter.

  • Patent number: 9304051
Abstract: Systems, method and apparatuses of a building control sensor unit are disclosed. One apparatus includes a building control sensor unit that includes one or more sensors operative to sense an environmental condition of a structure, and a transceiver, wherein the transceiver includes an extended antenna, wherein the extended antenna includes a strand of memory metal. The apparatus further includes a controller, wherein the controller is operative to receive information from other building control sensor units or a central controller, and transmit information to the other building control sensor units or the central controller, wherein the building control sensor unit is configured such that when placed on or within a ceiling of the structure, the extended antenna extends into the structure.

  • Patent number: 9033534
Abstract: Described herein are hands-free vision aids that may be used for low-vision reading. These vision aids may be beneficial for individuals with low-vision disorders such as age-related macular degeneration, retinitis pigmentosa, and other visual disorders. The vision aids described here comprise an optical system with one or more light sources configured to provide a rectangular field of illumination with high illuminance levels bounded by high contrast perimeter. Such an illumination field greatly illuminates a targeted viewing region while reducing glare that arises from illuminating peripheral regions. Some vision aids use green light with high illuminance values for improving visual acuity and comfort for long-duration reading. The optical system of a vision aid may be configured to fit onto and/or integrate with eyeglass frames.
