  • Patent number: 10016149
Abstract: A handle component of the present invention into which atmospheric air is inhaled and breath is exhaled in the analysis of breath comprises inhalation holes, an inhalation inlet, an inhalation path, a breath discharge component, and an exhalation path. The inhalation holes are disposed near the tube connected for conducting exhaled breath to an analysis device main body for analyzing this breath, and are holes through which atmospheric air is inhaled into the interior of the handle component. The inhalation inlet is a place where the atmospheric air inhaled from the inhalation holes is sent into the body. The inhalation path is disposed between the inhalation inlet and the inhalation holes. The breath discharge component is a place where breath discharged from the body is taken in. The exhalation path is disposed between the breath discharge component and the tube.

  • Patent number: 9993929
Abstract: A carrier is adapted for use in a shaving device and includes at least one pair (15) of a cutting element (8) and a hair lifting element (14). At least one of the elements (8, 14) of the pair (15) has a bent shape, wherein the bent element (8, 14) is provided with at least two bending lines (17, 18). The bent shape of the at least one of the elements (8, 14) is such that in a functional arrangement of the elements (8, 14) with respect to each other, edge portions (11, 16) of the elements (8, 14) are located at a distance with respect to each other. Thus, a space (22) is present between the elements (8, 14) at the side of their edge portions (11, 16), which can be used for receiving cut-off hair stubbles which might otherwise hinder a movement of the hair lifting element (14).

  • Publication number: 20180135229
Abstract: A washing machine appliance has a low-flow inlet valve that is configured such that a flow of water from the low-flow inlet valve has a flow rate no greater than one gallon per minute when the low-flow inlet valve is open. A Venturi pump is connected to the low-flow inlet valve such that the flow of water from the low-flow inlet valve enters the Venturi pump at a water inlet of the Venturi pump when the low-flow inlet valve is open. The Venturi pump is operable to draw fluid from a tub through a recirculation conduit to a recirculation inlet of the Venturi pump. A nozzle is positioned and oriented for directing a flow of liquid from the Venturi pump into the tub. A related method for operating a washing machine appliance is also provided.

  • Patent number: 9836328
Abstract: An apparatus includes at least one processor executing a method for managing memory among a plurality of concurrently-running virtual machines, and a non-transitory memory device that stores a set of computer readable instructions for implementing and executing said memory management method. A memory optimization mechanism can reduce a memory usage of a virtual machine at a cost of increasing a central processing unit (CPU) usage. Information on a memory usage and a CPU usage of each virtual machine is periodically collected. When a first virtual machine exhibits high memory use, at least one second virtual machine with an extra CPU capacity is identified. A memory optimization mechanism is applied to the second virtual machine to reduce memory used by the second virtual machine, thereby providing a portion of freed memory that is then allocated to the first virtual machine.

  • Patent number: 9619378
Abstract: A method for allocating memory among a plurality of computing systems includes assigning a free memory threshold to each computing system, dynamically varying at least one free memory threshold for at least one computing system based on a past memory usage of the at least one computing system, periodically monitoring each computing system for memory usage and in response to the monitoring determining that an amount of free memory for the computer system is below the free memory threshold for the computing system, allocating memory from the free memory pool to the computing system.

  • Patent number: 9609555
Abstract: According to some wireless network standards the size of a neighbor cell list is restricted to a maximum size. The limited size of a neighbor cell list may not reflect the realities of a wireless network deployment, especially for deployments including numerous femto cells clustered in close proximity. Accordingly, as the concentration of macro cells and/or femto cells in an area increases, there lies a challenge to identify and communicate neighbor lists to user devices that reflect the arrangement of a particular portion of the deployment and the needs of the user devices. Various systems, methods and apparatus described herein are configured to provide a user device or a group of user devices a neighbor cell list that includes neighbor cell identifiers chosen from a candidate list.

  • Publication number: 20170052730
Abstract: A method and structure for dynamic memory re-allocation for an application runtime environment (ARE) includes receiving, through an interface of an application runtime environment (ARE), a first set of internal operational metrics of the ARE executing at a current setting S1 on a processor of a computer. A first performance P1 of the ARE is determined at the current setting S1 using the received first set of internal operation metrics. The current setting S1 of the ARE is varied to a new setting S2. A second set of internal operational metrics of the ARE executing at the new setting S2 is received through the interface of the ARE. A second performance P2 of the ARE is determined at the new setting S2, using the received second set of internal operation metrics. A memory allocation for the ARE is re-allocated, based on the determined performances P1 and P2.
