Abstract: The present invention relates to polyurethane cast elastomers which are prepared from higher molecular weight polyhydroxy compounds, durene diisocyanate and low molecular weight chain-lengthening and/or crosslinking agents. These elastomers are particularly useful for the production of moldings exposed to high mechanical stresses.

Abstract: The present invention relates to composite materials made of at least one composite layer of a polyurethane and of a second composite layer which is directly bonded to the first layer and which consists of a thermoplastic material that is different from the polyurethane of layer A). The polyurethane material of layer A) is characterized by a residual content of free reaction components containing ether groups of no more than 400 ppm, and preferably of no more than 100 ppm. The invention also relates to a process for the production of these composite materials and to a method of their use as materials in motor vehicles.

Abstract: The present invention relates to aqueous compositions containinga) bis(1,3,4-oxadiazolin-5-ones) corresponding to formula (I) ##STR1## wherein R represents a single bond or a divalent aliphatic, araliphatic or aromatic radical having 1 to 18 carbon atoms andb) organic polyamines or polyamine blends having an average of more than 2 NH-- and/or NH.sub.2 -- groups.The present invention also relates to coatings, adhesives or sealants prepared from these aqueous compositions, in particular automotive clear coats.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved process for the preparation of toluidines. This process comprises the reductive deamination of 2,3-diaminotoluenes and/or 3,4-diaminotoluenes in the presence of one or more iron oxide catalyst.

Abstract: To improve the anti-sidetone of electro-acoustic installations, particularly to improve the intercom characteristics of a telecommunication terminal, with compander control by an echo evaluation circuit (52) assigned to the compander (4), the latter has an echo compensator (40) located upstream, and/or a voice-controlled balance (51) is located downstream of the compander (4), which are controlled by the echo evaluation circuit (52) of the compander (4). To control the echo compensator (40) and/or the voice-controlled balance (51), the usual control circuitry required for their operation can be omitted. The result is a particularly effective, economical method with very good intercom characteristics.

Abstract: A circuit arrangement for dynamic control of a voice terminal apparatus contains a compander function. Instead of analog circuits for dynamic expander and compressor, a digital signal processor (DSP) is employed which, via a prestored characteristic (KL), assigns to individual average level values of the input signal, amplification factors which are fed to the amplifier (VS) located in the send path of the terminal apparatus. The stored characteristic can be shifted or replaced by another characteristic as a function of a noise average value, or from a receive average value obtained from the audible feedback signal. Thus, an amplification change in the send path is compensated in its action upon the audible feedback signal arriving via the receive path. In a further development, the circuits delivering the level average values are replaced by the digital signal processor, which carries out the functions assigned to these circuits by means of subprograms.

Abstract: Bis-(4-isocyanatophenoxy)-alkanes corresponding to the formula ##STR1## in which R represents a divalent, saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon radical having from 2 to 6 carbon atoms with at least two carbon atoms between the two ether oxygen atoms, andR' represents hydrogen or a methyl group with R' being the same on both rings,are produced by phosgenating the corresponding diamine or an adduct of the corresponding diamine. These diisocyanates are particularly useful in the production of isocyanate addition products having outstanding physical and mechanical properties.

Abstract: A process for the preparation of urethanes. Urethanes having the general formula R.sub.1 (NHCOOR.sub.2).sub.n are reacted with an alcohol at a temperature of 120.degree. to 400.degree. C. in amounts such that, for every mol of the urethane, at least one mol of the alcohol is present. R.sub.1 is a radical obtained by removing the isocyanate groups from an n-functional organic isocyanate, which isocyanate has a boiling point greater than 100.degree. C. at atmospheric pressure. R.sub.2 is a radical obtained by removing the hydroxyl group from a monohydric alcohol which has a boiling point greater than 140.degree. C. at atmospheric pressure.

Abstract: Low molecular weight N- and O-substituted diurethanes and/or polyurethanes are prepared by reacting a diamine and/or polyamine containing a primary amino group with an N-aryl-0-alkyl urethane in the presence of at least one high boiling alcohol. This reaction may be carried out at a temperature of from 180.degree. to 350.degree. C. and a pressure of approximately 0.1 to 1,500 mbar. The arylamine corresponding to the N-ary-0-alkyl urethane which forms during this reaction is continuously removed from the reaction mixture.

Abstract: A process for the preparation of N,O-disubstituted urethanes. Urea or polyurets, primary amines and alcohols are reacted at 120.degree.-350.degree. C. in the presence of N-substituted urethanes and/or N-mono- or N,N'-disubstituted ureas or polyureas. In a preferred embodiment, the reactants further include catalysts known to be useful in esterification of carboxylic acids. The urethanes produced in accordance with this process are particularly useful as starting materials for preparation of isocyanates.

Abstract: A process for the preparation of N,O-disubstituted urethanes. Primary amines and alcohols are reacted with organic compounds having carbonyl groups at 120.degree. to 350.degree. C. Suitable carbonyl-containing compounds include N-unsubstituted urethanes. N-mono-substituted, N,N'-disubstituted ureas, or polyureas may be used in combination with the N-unsubstituted urethane. The product urethanes are particularly suitable for the preparation of isocyanates.

Abstract: A carbamic acid ester corresponding to the formula R.sup.1 --NH--CO--OR.sup.2 is thermally cleaved to form isocyanate R.sup.1 --NCO and alcohol R.sup.2 --OH fractions. This cleavage is accomplished by boiling the carbamic acid ester, condensing the vapor given off in a first fractionation column, and condensing the vapor from the first fractionation column in a second fractionation column. The boiling of the carbamic acid ester is carried out in a manner such that the average dwell time in the reaction vessel is from 1 to 20 hours, the temperature is from 160.degree. to 260.degree. C. and the pressure is from 0.001 to 2 bar. The isocyanate fraction obtained by this cleavage process may be used as a starting material for a transurethanation reaction in which a lower boiling isocyanate R.sup.3 --NCO is produced. The radicals R.sup.1, R.sup.2, and R.sup.3 are defined herein.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved process for the continuous production of alkylmonoisocyanates from commercial solutions containing N-alkyl carbamic acid chlorides by thermally decomposing the N-alkyl carbamic acid chlorides in the presence of inert solvents, and recovering the pure monoisocyanates by distillation.
