Patent number: 7862106Abstract: Utility vehicle, in particular for military purposes, with a chassis and a cab arranged on it frame so that it can be tilted, and guarded in certain places by affixed armor plating. The cab has a front module and a rear module, whereby the front module has a front wall, two side walls, a rear wall, a floor and a roof forming a cabin for the driver and co-driver. The rear module has a bearer frame enclosed at least in part by walls that form a hood-like protective and stowage space for the power aggregate and other vehicle parts and accessories. The rear module is releaseably attached to the rear of the front module and supported by it. Rear armoring of the cab is implemented by armor plating fitted between its front module and rear module.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 2008Date of Patent: January 4, 2011Assignee: MAN Nutzfahzeuge Österreich AGInventors: Peter Hinze, Franz Ribo, Robert Wimmer

Patent number: 7600808Abstract: A utility vehicles, in particular for military purposes, with a chassis and a cab arranged on the frame of said chassis so that it can be tilted. The cab has a front module and a rear module. The front module forms a cabin for the driver and co-driver. The rear module forms a hood-like protective and stowage space for vehicle aggregates, parts and accessories. The floor of the front module is reinforced by two longitudinal floor members extended through the front module rear wall by supporting brackets to support the rear module. There are supports so that the rear module, can rest on the extended supporting brackets of the longitudinal floor members. On the front module rear wall and at the front of the rear module bearer frame there are matching supporting and joining elements at different levels with flush boreholes or through-holes through which screws can be threaded to securely join the two cab modules on a longitudinal, crosswise and vertical axis, and also enabling them to be released.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 2008Date of Patent: October 13, 2009Assignee: MAN Nutzfahrzeuge Österreich AGInventors: Peter Hinze, Friedrich Beer, Franz Ribo, Robert Wimmer

Publication number: 20090058137Abstract: The subject of the invention is utility vehicles, in particular for military purposes, with a chassis and a cab (1) arranged on the frame (4) of said chassis so that it can be tilted. According to the invention the cab (1) is composed of a front module (5) and a rear module (6). The front module (5) forms a cabin for the driver and co-driver. The rear module (6), by comparison, forms a hood-like protective and stowage space for vehicle aggregates, parts and accessories. The floor (11) of the front module (5) is reinforced by two longitudinal floor members (18, 19) extended through the front module rear wall (10) by supporting brackets (22, 23) to serve as support for the rear module (6). On the bottom of the bearer frame (17) of the rear module (6) there are means of support (28, 29) so that the rear module (6), when attached to the front module (5), can rest on the extended supporting brackets (22, 23) of the longitudinal floor members (18, 19).Type: ApplicationFiled: August 22, 2008Publication date: March 5, 2009Applicant: MAN NUTZFAHRZEUGE OSTERREICH AGInventors: Peter HINZE, Friedrich Beer, Franz Ribo, Robert Wimmer

Patent number: 7073216Abstract: A multi-purpose recliner is provided having a recliner surface on which a person may recline and deployable for use inside and outside a vehicle, especially a military vehicle. The multi-purpose recliner includes a recliner surface material that can be rolled out, the recliner surface material forming the recliner surface and having a pair of receipt devices each extending along a respective length edge of the recliner surface material, and a disassembly-capable mount. The disassembly-capable mount includes a pair of stringers each being removably disposable in a respective one of the receipt devices of the recliner surface material and a pair of spacers releasably securable with the stringers. The multi-purpose recliner also includes a suspension structure for alternately retaining the recliner surface material in a rolled up condition and suspending the recliner surface material in a rolled out condition within the interior of the vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: July 1, 2004Date of Patent: July 11, 2006Assignee: Man Nutzfahrzeuge Osterreich AGInventors: Klaus Schwingeler, Peter Hinze

Patent number: 5192102Abstract: A basic frame which may be arranged on the carrying chassis of a truck is provided. The basic frame, which is not described in detail, has a hollow beam and struts with supports at their ends that slide in the hollow beam. When the struts are extended the supports may be lowered to the ground so that military equipment such as a rocket launcher or signaling devices mounted on the basic frame, may project to the side without the truck being likely to topple over.Type: GrantFiled: November 15, 1991Date of Patent: March 9, 1993Assignees: MAN Nutzfahrzeuge Aktiengesellschaft, Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Armin Mertens, Peter Hinze, Rudolf Ebert, Herbert Grach

Patent number: 4444052Abstract: Compensating brake fluid reservoirs with a brake fluid alarm device are required for master cylinders of hydraulic brake systems in automotive vehicles. A float chamber, which is disposed in a compensating reservoir and surrounds a float, is defined by a tubular body suspended from an upper end of the reservoir and a bottom element. After insertion of both parts into the reservoir the bottom element cooperates with the lower end of the tubular body such that the float chamber is closed at least to such an extent that the inflow and outflow of the fluid therefrom is inhibited in order to achieve a damping effect. This enables a quick immersion of both parts into the filled reservoir without brake fluid leaking from the reservoir.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 1983Date of Patent: April 24, 1984Assignee: ITT Industries, Inc.Inventors: Hans-Dieter Reinartz, Waldemar Vatter, Peter Hinze
