  • Patent number: 7791611
Abstract: A data buffer incorporated in the read return path between a processing pipeline and a frame buffer enables data reads from the buffer to be in a different order from data writes to the buffer. With this buffer, the frame buffer no longer is required to process read requests in any particular order and can be configured for improved processing speeds. The buffer includes a RAM to which data from the frame buffer is written according to a first order and from which data is read according to a second order. The buffer may be configured with multiple RAMs if the speed of data arriving from the frame buffer is greater than the write speed of the RAM.

  • Patent number: 6311081
Abstract: Power consumption during low-power sleep mode in a radiotelephone (104) is minimized. At a predetermined wake-up time, temperature of the radiotelephone is determined (706). A variable wake-up duration is set in response to the temperature (708). After the variable wake-up duration, the radiotelephone returns to a normal operational mode (730). In this manner, circuitry remains in the low-power state as long as possible. Further, a low-resolution secondary timer is used to measure the duration of the sleep period. After the duration timed by the secondary timer, a second duration is timed by a high-resolution primary timer. A timing calibration duration is then timed and a sleep mode is exited in synchronization with system timing.

  • Patent number: 5608306
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for identifying an individual battery pack includes at least one resistor having a particular resistance value and a supervising unit for reading the particular resistance value of the at least one resistor to determine the individual identity of the battery. A clock is provided which is used to determine the remaining useful life of the battery. Recharging is selectively allowed or prevented, depending on the identify and the remaining useful life. Additionally, the authenticity of the battery pack can be verified by using a random number used as a variable in a mathematical formula stored in the application circuit and the battery and comparing the result of the calculation.
