  • Patent number: 7919551
Abstract: Olefin compositions comprising C5 to C13 branched chain olefins are stabilised by the addition of 5 to less than 50 ppm by weight of antioxidant. These lower than normal amounts of antioxidant enable improved yields in a hydroformylation reaction using the olefin composition as feedstock and in esterification reactions employing the alcohol produced in the hydroformylation reaction. Consistent lower levels of antioxidant can be achieved by use of a liquid antioxidant and a pump driven dosing system.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 12, 2006
Date of Patent: April 5, 2011
    Assignee: ExxonMobilChemical Patents Inc.
Inventors: Nicolaas A. De Munck, Peter J. Ayre, Adrian F. Da Costa, Edwin Kooke

  • Patent number: 5531206
Abstract: A method and apparatus for a flyback control circuit wherein primary coil current is minimized during flyback operation such that the spark duration and energy delivered to the spark gap are maximized.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 27, 1995
Date of Patent: July 2, 1996
Inventors: Mark R. Kitson, Peter J. Ayre
  • Patent number: 4291062
Abstract: Pharmaceutical compositions for application topically or by suppository comprise:(a) a medicament, preferably protected from degradation by moisture by being presented in small particles of a waxy material,(b) from 5% to 40% of an inclusion compound of urea with a straight-chain aliphatic compound, preferably a fatty acid or alcohol,(c) up to 50% of an inert insoluble powder such as starch,(d) from 25% to 90% of an inert carrier, components (a), (b) and (c) being dispersed in (d).The compositions have good storage stability and a smooth texture.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 15, 1979
Date of Patent: September 22, 1981
    Assignee: Phares Pharmaceutical Research N.V.
Inventors: Steven Leigh, Peter J. Ayres
  • Patent number: 4253981
Abstract: A viscous composition capable of substantially retaining its viscosity within a temperature range of from 5.degree.-30.degree. C. comprising as its components diisopropyl adipate, a mixture of cetyl and stearyl octanoates, glyceryl tribehenate, silicone oil and a surfactant is described.
