  • Patent number: 4555002
Abstract: An improved roller retention cage for a one way clutch includes at least two adjoinable sections with abuttable flanges thereon. An energizing spring has a tail portion which is formed so as to be snap fitted around the abutted flanges, thereby structurally joining the cage sections together. This also serves to mount the energizing spring in the proper orientation to bias a lock up roller when it is retained in the cage. A cage having just two end sections so adjoined, as well as a cage made up of a plurality of sections so adjoined, are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4525173
Abstract: A pumpable slurry of mineral particles, e.g., coal, in water contains 50 to 85% by weight of mineral particles based on the combined weight of mineral particles and water. The mineral component contains at least 30% by weight of coarse particles having a particle size in the range 5 to 50 mm, 10 to 40% by weight of fine particles having a particle size less than 200 micron and the balance to 100% of intermediate sized particles. The slurry is stable without the use of additives and can be pumped through a pipeline.

  • Patent number: 4207018
Abstract: A pressurizing station (1) for a pipeline conveyor (2) includes a transfer conduit (5) for the passage of load-carrying capsules (3) between upstream and downstream portions (4 and 6) of the pipeline (4, 5 and 6) and a reverse, by-pass conduit (20) extending between outlet and inlet conduits (9 and 10) respectively connected to upstream and downstream ends (7 and 8) of the transfer conduit (5). A fan (36) is provided between the outlet and inlet conduits (9 and 10). A valve member (17) is mounted on an axis extending transversely of the transfer conduit (5) and is movable, in response to fluid flow through the pressurizing station (1), between a closed position, in which first and second opposite ends (21 and 22) of the valve member (17) respectively extend across the transfer conduit (5) and across the reverse, by-pass conduit (20), and an open position in which the first end (21) of the valve member (17) is clear of the path of capsules (3) travelling through the transfer conduit (5).
