    Abstract: A housing for holding a disc-shaped information carrier having a bottom section including a holding device, and a cover section which is hingeably connected to the bottom section. The bottom section is box-shaped and has transparent front, side and rear walls. The bottom section contains an insert sheet having portions which extend adjacent each of these transparent walls, including substantially the length of the side walls. Each of these portions may be provided with readable data relating to the information stored in the information carrier.

    Abstract: A housing for storing a disc-shaped information carrier, for example a DVD. The housing is provided with a bottom part (1) with a retaining device (7) for the information carrier and a lid part (3) which is connected with hinging possibility to the bottom part. Two corner hinges form the connection here, which corner hinges comprise two recessed hinge arms (30) of the hinge part and two matching recessed hinge walls (36). The lid part is provided with protection walls (42) which extend at the outside of the housing substantially parallel to the hinge arms so as to protect the hinge arms from external mechanical influences.

    Abstract: A holder for a rectangular cassette such as a magnetic-tape cassette comprises two parallel main walls and, three interconnecting transverse walls, and one short open side through which a cassette can be inserted into or removed from a cassette-receiving space defined by said walls. One of the main walls of the holder has a window which exposes a cassette main wall, provided with a label. The window of the holder is at least partly open, thereby enabling the cassette, when the holder is held in the palm of one hand, to be pushed out at least partly with a thumb, from which position the cassette can be loaded into a player/recorder by a loading mechanism.

Suitably, the hold-down means (41) comprise at least two hold-down members (50, 51) whose dimension (A) parallel to the direction of movement (22) of the sliding cover (2) is only a fraction of the length (L) of the edge zone (31) of the flange (28) of the sliding cover (2), over which edge zone said hold-down members engage.
