    Abstract: Packaging material 10 for a sealable, easy opening, tear resistant pouch-like package 100 comprises a first layer 12 including an oriented polymeric material having a front side capable of receiving surface printed information. A second layer 16 bonded to the first layer 12 includes a light barrier and moisture impervious material. Bonded to the second layer is a third layer 18 comprising a a coextruded film comprising carbon black-loaded linear low density polyethylene-EVA-polybutylene or carbon black loaded linear low density polyethylene film with an EVA gel lacquer coating. The material 10 overwraps the photographic product in a pouch-like structure comprising a flap 120, having along its length, a lengthwise seal 123 projecting outwardly of a second side 114. Second side 114 along with a first side 116 of package 100, extend between opposed hermetically sealed rearward and forward end portions 116,118.

    Abstract: A container for sterilizing objects contained in a pouch (66) is provided with shield portions (30, 32) having a wiper fingers (42) located on at least one side edge portion (44) of a peripheral edge (40) of one of the shield portions (30, 32). The wiper fingers (42) insure that metal-to-metal contact is maintained between the shield portions (30, 32) during sterilization. The pouch (66) is constructed from two sheets of a laminate materials, and includes an instrument retaining portion (68) and a fluid retaining portion (70). A water pillow (80) that bursts during sterilization is provided within the fluid retaining portion (70). Alternatively, a temporary seal (86) that bursts or opens during sterilization is provided within the fluid retaining portion (70) to prevent the premature transfer of a sterilization fluid contained in the fluid retaining portion (70) to the instrument retaining portion (68).

    Abstract: A flexible magnetic data storage disk with a ferromagnetic surveillance ring-shaped marker integrally bonded to the disk substrate around the central aperture. A series of slits are formed in the disk substrate under the marker to serve as "tear initiators" if a user attempts to remove the surveillance marker thus rendering the disk unusable and thereby protecting the data on the disk from unauthorized removal from a secure area.

    Abstract: A fluid treatment device is described which includes a cylindrical housing with fluid inlet and outlet means at or adjacent opposite ends. Particulate material for treating fluid flowed through the device, is disposed within the housing, between the inlet and outlet means. A helical baffle is disposed within the housing in the particulate material. The baffle extends axially along the housing and the free edges of its fins are in contact with the housing. The baffle serves to impose a helical path on fluid flowing through the device so that, when the device is mounted with its axis horizontal and with a volume of particulate material less than the volume of the space within the housing, fluid flows through the particulate material most of the time and not entirely along the void as would be the case if the baffle were not present.
