  • Patent number: 7300368
Abstract: In preferred embodiments, the game pieces of the present invention concentrate the mass and weight of the game piece away from the center of the game piece and around the periphery. Preferably the center portion of the game piece has a minimum of weight while maintaining the ability of the game piece to function correctly. In another preferred embodiment of the present invention, a game piece for a simulated hockey game encompasses a peripheral portion which is configured to slide on a simulated hockey game surface and having at least one central portion mounted within the peripheral portion. Optionally, the at least one central portion is made of a material different than the material of the peripheral portion.

  • Patent number: 5356143
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to devices for use in connection with an air cushion game table. Specifically, the present invention is directed to a device for regulating the air flow onto a surface of an air cushion game table. The air flow regulating device comprises an operating lever, an attached plate, and a level indicator panel. The operating lever has a top portion, a middle portion and a bottom portion. The top portion is secured to an underside of the table via pivotably mounted fasteners. The bottom portion extends from the side of the table enabling the device to be manually operated. The plate is attached to the top portion and is of sufficient size and shape to cover an air flow opening formed on the underside of the table. The level indicator panel allows a player to select a particular level of play. The present invention is also directed to an improved game piece or puck designed for use on an air cushion game table.

  • Patent number: 5112551
Abstract: A method of molding a flipper link to reduce or eliminate the tendency of the flipper link to break. The method includes the steps of forming a mold cavity for forming a flipper link having a first end portion, a second end portion and an intermediate necked-down portion. The necked-down portion provides an area between the first and second end portions which more easily twists and absorbs the stress exerted on the flipper link during use. Pins are provided in the cavity for forming an aperture in each of the first and second end portions. Plastic material is injected into the cavity at each end of the first and second end portions such that the plastic material flows into the cavity about the pins and the knit line or lines are formed in the flipper link in a location substantially centrally of the necked-down portion to thereby transfer the stress on the flipper link away from the apertures so as to substantially eliminate the tendency of the flipper link to break about the apertures.
