  • Patent number: 6065897
Abstract: The present invention is a locking mechanism which utilizes rolling members positioned on recessed inclined surfaces, the rolling members being biased toward a locked position wherein the rolling members engage both the inclined surface of the locking mechanism and an engagement surface of a member or workpiece disposed above and positioned proximate to the recess. Each rolling member is moved from its locked position to its unlocked position along its respective inclined surface by a lever pivotably mounted to the locking mechanism and engaging the rolling member.

  • Patent number: 5921535
Abstract: This invention relates generally to a manual toggle clamp for use in fixturing. The clamp includes an operating arm that is pivotally supported on a support block and a pair of outboard clamping links which share a common pivot axis and are supported on the support block. A pair of intermediate links interconnect the operating arm and the clamping links such that movement of the operating arm causes the clamping links to rotate. The elements of the clamp are configured such that they form an over-center linkage which prevents the clamping links from being moved out of a clamping position except by movement of the operating arm. The outboard clamping links provide a mounting surface for one or more clamping arms of the type typically used with power clamps.

  • Patent number: 5893253
Abstract: A floor sag eliminator that includes a floor plate assembly which is configured to be fastened to the underside of an existing floor between adjacent joists. One or more support arms are pivotally connected to the floor plate assembly at one of their ends. The other ends of the support arms are configured to engage and be retained by the side walls of floor joists. The support arms cooperate with the floor joists to provide support to the floor and to eliminate the sag.

  • Patent number: 4888926
Abstract: A floor squeak eliminator includes a plate assembly affixable to the underside of the floor and including a downwardly projecting threaded member. The squeak eliminator also includes a joist strap having a first end configured to engage the bottom side of a floor joist and second end configured to engage a portion of the threaded member. A nut or similar item engages the threads and draws the floor plate and joist strap together bringing the floor into contact with the subjacent joist.

  • Patent number: 4396640
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for controlling the temperature of a substrate onto which thin films of semiconductor materials are vapor deposited. The apparatus contains a platen contacting a surface of said substrate over the entire length of the deposition zone; said platen having at least one cavity therein and a rounded edge where said substrate first contacts said platen of the beginning of said deposition zone.
