  • Patent number: 4089253
Abstract: A fluid operated linear motor of the piston and cylinder type. The piston is secured to a rod by a threaded connection and the mating threads are proportioned and dimensioned so that pivotal movement available in the threaded connection is enough to compensate at least in part for manufacturing tolerances and eccentricities and prevent or reduce abnormal distribution of lateral forces by the piston on the outer cylinder.

  • Patent number: 3994604
Abstract: A screw type connection for rigidly mounting a piston on a rod and securing the connection. There is a pair of cooperating aligned slots in the outer piston and the inner rod. A locking member is located conjointly in the slots and a retainer member is provided to keep the locking member in position during operation.

  • Patent number: 3981514
Abstract: An outrigger for stabilizing a vehicle, including telescopic members and a power actuator to extend and retract the outrigger. The outer telescopic member is pivoted adjacent one side of the vehicle and extends beneath it. A combined guide and support member causes initial outward extension of the outrigger to be horizontal but toward the end of the horizontal travel the guide and support member causes outer end of the outrigger to move downwardly.

  • Patent number: 3945673
Abstract: A load engaging and supporting mechanism for use with load handling equipment, in which a beam is movable to a position over a container, and a pair of carriages are adjustable along the beam and have arms extending downwardly along each side for lifting and moving the container. A load engaging mechanism is disposed in each of said arms and contains a pin adapted to extend into openings in fixtures in the upper side corners of the container as the two arms of each carriage are moved toward one another. A positioning structure is preferably provided with each fitting to assist in locating the fitting in the fixture. The present fitting may be included in the equipment along with other types of load engaging and lifting mechanisms, and is preferably retractable to prevent it from interfering with the operation of the alternative mechanism.
