  • Patent number: 4228541
Abstract: A device for the electro-optical display of the tuning of an electromagnetic wave receiver, such as a television or a radio, wherein the frequency of a received electromagnetic signal is measured and converted into a digital representation, which is applied to the input of a memory as the address of the various preprogrammed names of selected transmitting stations. The output of the memory is applied to select appropriate display elements of an electro-optical display and the selected display elements are then excited to provide a display indicative of the name or call letters of the transmitter station corresponding to the tuned receiver signal.

  • Patent number: 4177729
Abstract: A method for the production marking of liquid crystal displays whereby the closure bar of the liquid crystal cell is produced and encoded by a screen printing process. Several coding techniques which minimize production interruptions are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4088992
Abstract: An electro-optical display device and a method of manufacturing it are disclosed. The display device includes a liquid crystal cell arranged between two polarizers. A light source is positioned adjacent one polarizer on the side thereof remote from the liquid crystal cell, and an electronic control device is coupled to the liquid crystal cell. A diaphragm is arranged on one side of the liquid crystal cell in the form of an aperture for limiting the display field of the liquid crystal. The device limits viewing parallax and improves contrast for both day and night viewing.

  • Patent number: 4082430
Abstract: In a driving circuit for a liquid crystal display matrix, a source of a direct or low-frequency voltage is connected to drive the selected row and column electrodes, and a high frequency voltage is connected to the driving circuit so that the high frequency potential is effective in combination with the low frequency or direct voltage at non-frequency voltage is effective at the selected crossovers. The high frequency voltage suppresses changes in the optical properties of the liquid crystal at the non-selected crossovers.
