Abstract: Simple and economical embodiments of a drip-stop resistance assembly for caulking guns incorporating a resistance clip, or alternatively, an elastic grommet or constricted spring. The drip-stop assembly may be used with various manually-operated caulking guns including those with metal enclosures and single piece molded plastic open frames, and with various types of plunger shafts including those with a circular or hexagonal cross-section, or ratchet teeth. The drip-stop assembly includes a resistance clip formed of resilient steel wire or the like, and bent or cast in the form of an annular yoke for encircling the plunger shaft and providing frictional resistance against sliding. The resistance clip may be inserted onto the plunger shaft (from above or below the housing) at various positions along the shaft. A back-plate formed by a conventional washer, or angle-bracket is inserted on the plunger shaft and is spaced from the resistance clip for allowing the latter to frictionally slide a short distance.

Abstract: Simple and economical drive mechanism controls for incorporation in a manually operated caulking gun. The controls include various restraint springs and reeds to afford the caulk gun user the option of releasing pressure (to avoid drips) or not upon full release of the trigger, and a resistance clip to provide some restraint against the plunger shaft inadvertently sliding backward when the trigger is fully released and pressure is removed in the dripless drive context.

Abstract: A caulking gun incorporating an inexpensive and convenient adjustment feature which allows the user of a caulk dispensing gun to vary the thrust output while using the gun, The adjustment feature is accomplished by means of a selection dial pivotally mounted for orthogonal rotation about an upward tip of the trigger. The selection dial can be rotated into various positions for varying the thrust output of the caulking gun.

Abstract: A completely portable trigger-operated dispensing gun which employs a simple and reliable double reduction gear system for driving one or more axial plungers with an extreme dispensing force, said force being sufficient for dispensing highly viscous materials such as epoxy resin and hardener from a conventional twin cylinder epoxy cartridge having an elongate mixing nozzle.

Abstract: A caulk dispensing gun having a rotatable barrel and a barrel rotation lock which allows smooth and unencumbered 360.degree. bi-directional rotation, and convenient locking at any angular position during rotation of the barrel. The caulk dispensing gun also has a piston assembly which is especially suited for use in a rotatable barrel.

Abstract: An improved single and double cylinder hand-operated caulking gun having a direct plunger drive mechanism including a bearing assembly for increasing trigger leverage to allow delivery of a dense composition at a high volume and flow rate. The caulking gun of the present invention includes an adjustable trigger stop for minimizing hand fatigue during prolonged use, quick-release pistons, and a dual-cartridge restraining screw.

Abstract: An adjustable safety guide for a skeleton type caulking gun having an end-ring held against the thrust of a trigger-driven push rod by an open-frame of upper and lower arms. The adjustable safety guide automatically prevents a cartridge from accidentally dropping through the open frame during loading operations while preserving access from both the left hand side and the right hand side of the caulking gun; it comprises a flexible half-sleeve reaching longitudinally along the open frame with the upper and lower margins respectively looped around the upper and the lower arms in the preferred securance.

Abstract: An improved caulking gun providing greater trigger-leverage and more nearly parallel trigger swing through location of the trigger pivot above the plunger shaft, a provision also providing maximum wear-point-access and oiling reminder, and simplifying fabrication and assembly together with a free-insert drive-grip spring, a self-pivoting release grip retained together with the counter-spring on the plunger shaft; subassembly requires only three welds for part securance and final assembly securance requires only one rivet and one upset-attachment.
