  • Publication number: 20050064943
Abstract: An adjustable roller unit for an internal joint part of a tripod constant-velocity joint. An end of the internal joint part projects into an external joint part. The internal joint part has a bearing journal which is directed radially outward and on which a roller is mounted in a swivelable manner, and the roller is rotatable about the longitudinal axis of the journal. The roller is rotatably mounted on a bearing which is displaceable coaxially to the longitudinal axis of the bearing journal and the mounting permits swiveling of the respective roller on the bearing. The bearing is a linear bearing movable along the journal as the roller swivels. Stops control that movement along the journal.

  • Publication number: 20040218843
Abstract: A radial bearing unit for a driveshaft in motor vehicles, in particular a halfshaft for connecting a transmission with a driven front wheel, includes a holder having a housing made of two housing portions which are so configured as to form together a spherical receptacle. The integrity of the housing is realized by providing the housing portions with flanges for mutual support. Seated in the spherical receptacle is a curved outer surface area of a rolling-contact bearing. Each of the housing portions has at least two tabs extending radially in spaced-apart relationship from the flanges for form-fitting engagement in a machine part, when the radial bearing unit is installed in the machine part.

  • Patent number: 6250334
Abstract: The invention concerns a centering device for steering valves of automotive vehicles and is characterized in that a needle roller bearing (16) is arranged between the drive shaft (5) and the valve bushing (12), said needle roller bearing (16) having an outer bearing ring (17) which is configured as a thin-walled sleeve which comprises, in at least one peripheral section, an elastically yielding raceway convexity (18) deviating from the circular shape, and said peripheral section comprises an angular groove (22) which is situated radially opposite an angular groove (23) disposed in an associated portion of the drive shaft (5). The needle roller bearing (16) of the invention assures a fine centering to the hydraulic center of the steering valve.

  • Patent number: 6132099
Abstract: The invention relates to a radial bearing assembly for a drive shaft of vehicles which connects a transmission (2) with a driven front wheel (5), with a laterally sealed radial bearing (11a) received in a holder (15) which is securely fixed in place on the side of an internal combustion engine for supporting the drive halfshaft (7). In accordance with the invention, a drive shaft (7) in the form of a hollow shaft is provided, with an inner ring (12a) of the radial bearing (11a) being formed from a sheet metal band in a non-cutting fashion. The radial bearing (11a) is received via a spherically shaped outer surface area (14) of an outer ring (13a) in an oriented position in the holder (15) which is assembled from flanges (16, 17).
