  • Publication number: 20080015519
Abstract: A needle mounting system and methods for mounting a needle assembly on a needle mount are disclosed. The needle mounting system includes a needle hub having protrusions extending radially inward. A needle mount has a plurality of slots to receive the protrusions. The slots have a first portion that defines a passageway substantially parallel to a longitudinal axis of the needle mount and a second portion substantially perpendicular to the axis. The needle hub and mount provide a method wherein a needle assembly may be mounted on an injection device without completely rotating the needle hub relative to the needle mount.

  • Publication number: 20070288276
Abstract: Banking software application development includes defining a plurality of banking object terms, each of these terms relating to components of a banking relationship. Additionally, the software is developed by defining a plurality of responsibility area terms, each of these terms relating to banking activities, wherein each of the responsibility area terms includes at least one of the banking object terms. From the defined relationships, the software is developed by generating a solution foundation for at least one of the responsibility area terms by defining relationships between the plurality of business object terms. Therefore, the banking software application is developed based on the solution foundation.

  • Publication number: 20070196360
Abstract: Maleimide and succinimide derivatives were found to be effective topoisomerase II catalytic inhibitors. Due to this property, the maleimide and succinimide derivatives were investigated for their use as cytostatic agents and thus in the treatment of cancer. The compounds of the invention can be used in combination treatments with other cytostatic agents, such as topoisomerase II poisons. The maleimide and succinimide derivatives, due to their effective topoisomerase II catalytic inhibitory activity, are also useful as extravasation agents, such as upon administration of a topoisomerase II poison.

  • Publication number: 20070034387
Abstract: A system for discharging inert gas for extinguishing or suppressing a fire is disclosed. A fluid discharge control arrangement is positioned in a fluid flow path between a pressurised gas supply 10A,10B,10C and the target fire suppression zone 20. The fluid discharge control arrangement reduces the pressure in the fluid flow path downstream thereof. This may allow the downstream pipework to be selected to withstand a lower pressure than in a conventional system in which the fluid discharge control device was not provided, thereby reducing costs. The fluid discharge control device may comprise a first valve 30 and first restrictor 26 in the first flow path 22 and a second valve 32 and a second restrictor 28 provided in the second flow path 24. Fluid from the containers 10A,10B,10C flows initially through flow path 24 and restrictor 26. Subsequently flow path 22 may be closed by optional valve 30, and flow path 24 is opened by valve 32. Fluid flow then passes through restrictor 28.

  • Publication number: 20060144780
Abstract: Methods and systems for removing perchlorate from water are disclosed. They involve: Methods and systems for removing perchlorate from water are disclosed which involve the use of a plurality of vessels containing an ion exchange resin having affinity for perchlorate ions, and in which perchlorate-contaminated water is passed over the resin in some but not all of the plurality of vessels operating in parallel to one another thereby removing perchlorate ion from the water stream and generating reduced perchlorate content product water streams and in which a subset of the plurality of vessels is removed from service, their resin is removed and replaced and they are returned to service.

  • Publication number: 20060120235
Abstract: A method and system for the erasing of data from a non-volatile recording medium includes a non-volatile recording medium controller, a non-volatile recording medium, and a CPU. A data pattern used in an erasure command is sent to the non-volatile recording medium a single time. Consequently, the amount of data transferred to the non-volatile recording medium controller is reduced to a minimum. After receiving the erasure command, the non-volatile recording medium controller overwrites an erasure area with the data pattern.

  • Publication number: 20060094078
Abstract: The production of biomass or a desired product from a cell can be improved by inducing conversion of ATP to ADP without primary effects on other cellular metabolites or functions which is achieved by expressing an uncoupled ATPase activity in said cell and incubating the cell with a suitable substrate to produce said biomass or product. This is conveniently done by expressing in said cell the soluble part (F1) of the membrane bound (F0F1 type) H+-ATPase or a portion of F1 exhibiting ATPase activity. The organism from which the F1 ATPase or portions thereof is derived, or in which the F1 ATPase or portions thereof is expressed, may be selected from prokaryotes and eukaryotes.

  • Publication number: 20050234787
Abstract: Centralized process context and information context are provided for a computer system having an enterprise service architecture platform. The process context is a centrally accessible object storing and providing status data generated during performance of a process flow. The process context permits firm personnel to review performance of the process flow, for example, to determine its status and to identify any business exceptions that may have occurred therein. The information context caches information generated during performance of the process flow. It provides data on which to assess firm performance parameters, for example, time elapsed during performance of each process step and it provides a detailed set of information describing the process business activity. The process context and information context support higher-level monitoring functions.
