  • Patent number: 8946978
Abstract: A lighting device (2) comprises a light source (210) having a main forward emission direction (20), and an envelope (220) in which the light source (210) is arranged. The envelope (220) comprises an upper portion (225) having scattering properties and being arranged to reflect a part of the light from the light source (210) laterally and backwardly relative to the main forward emission direction (20) and transmit a part of the light from the light source (210). The light intensity distribution of the lighting device (2) is more uniform, as backward and lateral light intensity is increased while the light in the main forward emission direction (20) is still admitted.

  • Publication number: 20140376238
Abstract: The present invention relates to a lighting device (1). The lighting device comprises alight source (3), a circuit board (7) configured to control the light source, and a circuit board frame (10) comprising a slot (12). Further, an edge (8) of the circuit board is mounted in the slot such that the circuit board is in thermal contact with the circuit board frame, thereby enabling heat to be conducted from the circuit board to the circuit board frame. The present invention is advantageous in that the thermal performance of the lighting device is improved and manufacturing costs are reduced.

  • Publication number: 20140153261
Abstract: An illumination device comprising a light source (110). The illumination device comprises a thermally conducting carrier (130) arranged to support the light source. Furthermore, the illumination device comprises an envelope (120), wherein the carrier and the envelope together form a single compartment (140) at least partially enclosing the light source. The carrier is arranged to transfer heat (160) away from the light source to the envelope, and the envelope is arranged to dissipate heat (170) away from the illumination device. The carrier and the envelope of the illumination device may further form a single integrated part.

  • Publication number: 20140133172
Abstract: The invention relates to a light-output device (1; 10; 30) controllable to provide different light-output functions. The light-output device comprises a light-source arrangement (12; 31) configured to emit light; and a light-guiding system (10; 32) arranged to receive the light and configured to guide the light to at least one light-output surface of the light-guiding system. The light-guiding system (10; 32) comprises at least a first light-guide (11b; 37) and a second light-guide (11a; 40, 41); and the light-guiding system (10; 32) is movable relative to the light-source arrangement (12; 31) between at least a first position where light output by the light-source arrangement is guided by the first light-guide (11b; 37) to provide a first light-output function, and a second position where light output by the light-source arrangement is guided by the second light-guide (11a; 40, 41) to provide a second light-out put function, different from the first light-output function.
