  • Patent number: 6698590
Abstract: A bottle (1) includes a base (2) and a continuous sidewall (3) extending upwardly from the periphery of the base (2) to a neck (4). The neck defines an opening (5) which is selectively blocked by a lid (6). Base (2) and sidewall (3) define a cavity for containing a suncream or the like which a person selectively applies to their skin to reduce the harmful effects of the sun's rays. The package also contains display means for providing a person with the indication of the intensity of UV radiation, or another ambient condition, incident upon the package.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 3, 2002
Date of Patent: March 2, 2004
    Assignee: Crown Laboratories, Inc.

  • Patent number: 6257051
Abstract: A viscometer for sensing or characterizing the stress required to shear a fluid at a given rate includes a pair of members coaxially mounted for relative rotation. Between the members is an annular gap defining a flow path for the fluid. The flow path is configured such that during differential rotation of the members, fluid is caused to flow through the annular gap that is a function of the differential rotation and the viscosity of the fluid. A sensor measures the torque or torque equivalent required to achieve such differential rotation between the members.
