  • Publication number: 20240035585
Abstract: Modular valve assemblies are disclosed. In embodiments the modular valve assemblies include a first frame and a second frame. The first frame includes a fluid inlet and first mount, and the second frame includes a fluid outlet and a second mount. A connection element extends between the first mount and the second mount. At least a first modular block and a second modular block are disposed on the connection element and position between the first and second frame. The first and second modular blocks may each be rotatable about the connection element between a use position and a maintenance position. In the use position, a composite flow path extends from the fluid inlet, through a first fluid flow path in the first modular block, through a second fluid flow path in the second modular block, and to the fluid outlet. Rotation of the first or second modular block to its maintenance position moves the first or second fluid flow path, respectively, out of the composite flow path.

  • Publication number: 20220357756
Abstract: Temperature control device (1) has a hot water inlet (12), a cold water inlet (14) and an outlet (16) for tempered water. A diffuser (18) is provided in the device (1) to disrupt the flow of hot water after it enters the device (1). The disrupted hot water emerges from the diffuser (18) into a chamber (20) in which it is melded with cold water that is able to enter the chamber (20) from the inlet (14) when a piston (22) is spaced from a seat (24). The melded hot and cold water result in tempered water that is discharged from the outlet (16). A temperature sensitive device (26) is provided, which is responsive to changes in ambient temperature. A temperature setting mechanism (52) is provided which is operatively associated with the temperature sensitive device (26) and permits the maximum temperature of the discharged tempered water to be adjusted.

  • Publication number: 20220325810
Abstract: A valve cartridge (1) having a body (10), a piston (12) and a piston support (22). The body has a seat (14). The piston (12) is supported on the piston support (22) and movable between first and second positions. The piston (12) is spaced from the valve seat (14) at the first position and the piston (12) seats on the valve seat (14) at the second position. The piston (12) and piston support (22) form a confined space. The volume of the confined space is at a maximum when the piston (12) is at the first position and is at a minimum when the piston (12) is at the second position. The piston (12) is under bias such that the piston (12) is biased away from the valve seat (14) to the first position and, in use, the piston (12) is able to seat on the valve seat (14) in the second position when subjected to sufficient pressure to counter the bias.

  • Patent number: 10823304
Abstract: A freeze prevention valve comprising a body having an inlet (14) and an outlet (16) for fluid to exit the valve in an open condition, a valve seat (18) provided adjacent an opening (22) of the valve, a piston member (20) that is movable in the body, the piston member comprising a piston shaft and a piston head (24), the piston head (24) arranged to seat against the valve seat (18) in a closed condition of the valve, a temperature sensing device (26) comprising a temperature sensitive element (28), operatively associated with the piston head (24), wherein the temperature sensitive element contracts and expands when the temperature of the fluid sensed by the temperature sensing device decreases or increases, wherein contraction of the temperature sensitive element allows the return spring (30) to move the piston member to unseat the piston head from the valve seat and thereby open the valve.

  • Patent number: 9958079
Abstract: A device for a plumbing installation, the device, for example, may be a valve, such as valve (1), or a fluid flow meter (6), and has a casing (10) that is hydraulically formed from metal tubing so as to have a wall surrounding a void interior. The casing (10) is provided with one or more formations, such as shoulders (64) and (65) and at least one inlet opening (14) and at least one outlet opening (18). A cartridge (12) is at least partly located in the void interior of the casing (10). The cartridge (12) has at least two openings, being a first opening (20) and a second opening (22). Seals (46), (48) and (50) are provided between the casing (10) and the cartridge (12). The cartridge (12) is accommodated in the casing (10) by the one or more formations of the casing (10). The cartridge (12) is provided with the operational components of the device (1). The inlet opening (14) of the casing (10) and the first opening (20) of the cartridge (12) are in fluid communication.

  • Patent number: 9476599
Abstract: A hot water storage unit 100 having a vessel 102, in which hot water is storable, an outer casing 104 enclosing the vessel 102, a hot water outlet 114 for heated water to exit from inside the vessel 102, and a relief device 106. The relief device 106 relieves excess pressure and/or temperature from inside the vessel 102 by allowing water to escape from inside the vessel 102 and exit from the relief device 106. The relief device 106 comprises a housing 108 containing the operational components of the relief device 106. The relief device 106 is removably retainable relative to the vessel 102 such that the housing 108 of the relief device 106 is located substantially behind the outer casing 104 of the hot water storage unit 100 on the inner side 122 of the outer casing 104.
