  • Publication number: 20120304642
Abstract: In an internal combustion engine having at least one exhaust gas turbocharger and an engine crankcase with at least one ventilation unit, by means of which a mixture of gas and lubricant generated in the crankcase of the internal combustion engine can be removed from the engine crankcase, and which cooperates with at least one first separating unit, by means of which lubricant can be separated from the gas and lubricant mixture formed in the crankcase, at least one further separating unit is associated with the at least one exhaust gas turbocharger, by means of which lubricant of a mixture of the lubricant and gas formed in the exhaust gas turbocharger can be separated from the lubricant and gas mixture.

  • Patent number: 7744139
Abstract: A method for picking up and handling filled, closed rectangular bags, film packs and pouches, which have a bottom side, and two longitudinal sides, and are provided on the bottom side with a bottom fold. The pouches, standing on one of the longitudinal sides, are arranged in parallel to one another in a row and in each case are picked up with a gripper mechanism having comb-like, finger-like gripper elements on an opposite (upper) longitudinal side with the gripper elements being moved between the upper longitudinal sides of adjacent pouches. The gripper elements are moved in the longitudinal direction of the upper longitudinal sides, from the base side and pass the same, between adjacent longitudinal sides.

  • Publication number: 20090256713
Abstract: A network consisting of sensor elements (7-12), in which the sensor elements (7-12) are connected to one another and/or to a central unit (21) by interfaces, the sensor elements (7-12) being arranged at different locations and each having at least one sensor which detects biological or chemical harmful substances, the sensor elements (7-12) having sensors which detect different substances being arranged at different locations, and the sensor elements (7-12) forwarding measured values detected by the sensors to one another and/or to the central unit (21).

  • Patent number: 7564408
Abstract: A sensor network (1) as well as a method for monitoring a terrain (6) is specified. The sensor network (1) has a number of fixed-position sensors (3, 3?, 3?), which can be deployed in the terrain (6), and at least one programming module (25), with the fixed-position sensors (3, 3?, 3?) each being equipped with a communication device, with the at least one programming module having a position-finding device and a programming device (25), in which case the position of the sensors (3, 3?, 3?) can be determined by the position-finding device and can in each case be applied to the sensors (3, 3?, 3?) by the programming device (25) via the communication device, and with the sensors (3, 3?, 3?) being designed such that they themselves form a network. The sensor network (1) as well as the method, which is carried out in a manner corresponding to it, for monitoring the terrain (6) require sensors (3, 3?, 3?) of simple design, and are thus associated with a cost advantage.

  • Publication number: 20070144157
Abstract: The invention relates to a heat exchanger, particularly an exhaust heat exchanger (1) for an internal combustion engine. The heat exchanger (1) has a tubular housing (2) a housing section of which is surrounded on the outside by a duct housing (9) with an annular duct (10) being formed. The duct housing (9) has a coolant connection (connecting branch 12) and, in the housing section which is covered by the duct housing (9), passage openings (13 to 16) which are distributed over the circumference and via which a uniform distribution of the coolant in the interior of the housing (2) is obtained. It is advantageous, in the case of a heat exchanger (1) with an expansion element (18), to use the annular duct (10) and the passage openings (13 to 16) at the same time in order to form the expansion element (18).

  • Patent number: 6935319
Abstract: In an exhaust-gas recirculation system of an internal combustion engine with an exhaust-gas recirculation line extending between an exhaust duct and an inlet duct, wherein the exhaust-gas recirculation line includes an exhaust-gas recirculation valve and also at least one first exhaust-gas cooler, at least one second exhaust-gas cooler is provided in the exhaust gas recirculation line and the exhaust-gas recirculation valve is arranged between the first exhaust-gas cooler and the second exhaust-gas cooler so that only the first exhaust gas cooler is subjected to the high exhaust gas pressure effective during engine braking when the exhaust gas recirculation valve is closed.

  • Patent number: 6525995
Abstract: A radio-controlled timepiece is controlled by time telegrams emitted by a regional transmitter. When the timepiece is out of the effective range of the regional transmitter, the timepiece is controlled by a local (i.e., close-range) transmitter which transmits time telegrams that have the same frequency and encoding as the time telegrams from the regional transmitter. The local transmitter receives time information from a remote source, such as navigational satellites, or alternatively a time server by way of the internet, in order to create the local time telegrams.
