  • Publication number: 20050017116
Abstract: An energy management device has a plurality of electromagnets positioned between a shaft and a seatbelt spool. When energized, the electromagnets move radially outwardly to engage the inside surface of a hub of the seatbelt spool. By adjusting the amount of current supplied to the electromagnets, the amount of friction, and thus the amount of energy dissipated, can be controlled. A D-ring can be supported on the cable which goes to a spool so that during a crash the ring moves forward as cable is pulled out of the spool which in turn is braked by the energy management device.

  • Patent number: 6823032
Abstract: To be able to use a clock generation unit (2) for different mobile radio systems, the clock generation unit (2) which includes a phase-locked loop (4) for converting a reference clock (fR) into a working clock is provided and includes circuit portions (16a, 16b; 20a, 20b) which are designed for different reference clocks (fR) while a respective one of the circuit portions (16a, 20a) to which a special reference clock (fR) is assigned can be selected. The clock generation unit (2) can thus be operated with different reference clocks of different mobile radio systems.

  • Publication number: 20030178409
Abstract: In order to provide a hand-guided machine, which is partially or completely used at low ambient temperatures, with a heating arrangement of the handles, comprising an AC source, an analysis electronic system, at least one temperature sensor connected to the analysis electronic system and at least one electrical heating element supplied with power from the AC source, with which heating of handles of hand-guided machines is possible and which avoids the disadvantages of known handle heaters and particularly relieves the operator in his work activity as well as providing an ergonomically favorable working environment, so that work accidents and occupational illnesses are avoided, it is suggested that the output of the at least one electrical heating element be switched and regulated by an electronic component, controlled by the analysis electronic system, in the form of transistors, IGBTs, GTOs, thyristors, or TRIACs.

  • Patent number: 6442407
Abstract: The invention discloses a mobile radio telephone set including at least one control processor and at least one signal processor which are at least occasionally not in an active mode. To reduce the energy consumption of the mobile radio telephone set in the simplest manner possible, a control unit selects operating modes at least for the control processor and/or the signal processor. By utilizing a separate control unit, more particularly two or more coupled processors or other switching units of the whole mobile radio telephone set may be controlled independently. Each coupled unit may at once individually be set to its own operating mode to operate only the currently necessary units in this manner and reduce the energy consumption in this manner.

  • Publication number: 20020096519
Abstract: In order to make available a tank cap with a sealing plug (13, 15; 18, 21) and a filler opening (10) in the fuel tank, which allows a simplified production and a more flexible use, it is proposed that the filler opening (10) is configured in such a way that the filler opening (10) allows the fixing of a sealing plug (13, 15; 18, 21) by means of two fixing systems or more.

  • Patent number: 6231799
Abstract: Substantially sulfur free thermoplastic PMMA containing molding compositions are utilized with non-ferrous metal tools for the manufacture of molded articles. The use of such molding materials having a sulfur content of less than 50 ppm reduces the wear on the non-ferrous metal tools, particularly when utilized with injection molding and pressure molding. As a result of the use of sulfur free molding masses where it necessary to utilize tools of non-ferrous metal, there is a substantial economic advantage in the use thereof.

  • Patent number: 6134451
Abstract: A mobile radio telephone set includes modules which are connectable by control signals. The modules include a control signal generator and a digital signal processor with a memory. The control signal generator is connected to the memory which stores at least one data word for a corresponding control signal. For rapidly and flexibly changing the control signals, the memory supplies data words which contain two control signals for at least two control lines coupled to the control signal generator. Each data word supplied by the memory contains at least two control signals in coded form. Each time a data word is supplied by the memory, at least two new control signals can be conveyed to the control lines. As a result, a selectable number of control signals may be changed simultaneously and flexibly because random data words can be stored in the memory.

  • Patent number: 6049862
Abstract: A signal processor is disclosed having a program memory which stores compressed program instructions and a decoder device which decodes the compressed program instructions to form decoded program instructions for controlling functions of the signal processor. The decoder device has a programmable decoder and a fixed decoding arrangement, where the fixed decoding arrangement is non-programmable and hardwired for decoding the compressed program instructions using logical operations. The programmable decoder includes a decoder memory, such as a ROM or RAM, having cells for storing the decoded program instructions in an uncompressed form. These cells are addressed for executing programmable decoding functions of the programmable decoder. The compressed program instructions include a first number of bits for determining a category of the compressed program instructions and a second number of bits for determining the address of the cells.
