  • Patent number: 5062388
Abstract: Feeder for small birds comprising a transparent cylindrical housing secured at its lower extremity to a metallic ring member having circumferentially spaced feed openings therein, and a metallic tray located below said ring, said tray, ring member and housing being retained in assembled relation by means of a single threaded bolt extending upwardly from beneath said tray.

  • Patent number: 4977859
Abstract: A feed device for birds in which a feed distribution assembly is mounted at the bottom of a feed container. The distribution assembly includes a downwardly outwardly slanted lower wall which forces seed to the inner outside peripheral surfaces of the assembly against an intermediate wall which includes openings therethrough. Such openings are normally partially aligned with similar openings formed in an encircling band about the intermediate wall which band is adjustably rotatable thereon such that the desire rate of feed distribution is dependent on the species to be attracted and the seed size utilized.

  • Patent number: 4846111
Abstract: A bird perch assembly formed of a bendable tightly wound wire perch formed in the shape of a generally hollow cylinder and further provided with a keeper device such that its potential for lateral elongation is prevented or diminished. Such perch assembly is adapted for replaceable mounting in a wild bird feeder opening such that the perch downwardly bends when a large, that is, a heavy, bird attempts to rest thereon and remains generally straight to support a small, that is, a light, bird resting thereon.

  • Patent number: 4841910
Abstract: A bird perch formed of a bendable, tightly wound wire formed in a generally hollow cylinder. A first end of the perch is adapted for replaceable mounting in a bird feeder opening, and the body of the perch adapted to downwardly bend when a large, that is, heavy, bird attempts to rest thereon and remain generally straight to support small, that is, light, birds resting thereon. The individual wire windings are closely spaced or touching to prevent the birds' feet from being caught in the spaces therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4690101
Abstract: In combination with a bird feeder including a vertically disposed hollow housing having a peripheral side wall, a removable top cover and a bottom wall and at least one aperture in the side wall, a combination baffle, seed tray and perch device adapted for mounting on the outside of the side wall and including a collar adapted for slidable engagement with the side wall. The relationship of the device vis-a-vis the housing can be fixed in such a manner that the collar may at least partially obstruct the aperture so as to regulate the flow of seed therethrough. The device is preferably formed as an integral unit and includes a tray portion radially outwardly extending from the collar and terminating in an upstanding rim further provided with a plurality of radially extending circumferentially spaced perches. The aperture is preferably elongated and is positioned at an angle between 30 degrees and 60 degrees and preferably is about 3/8" wide and 1" long.

  • Patent number: 4462337
Abstract: A bird feeder having a generally planar seed tray and means for mounting such in a generally horizontal position. The bird feeder further includes a cover, generally of dome-shaped configuration and having a lower peripheral edge frictionally supported on an upstanding peripheral seed tray rim. The cover is capable of rotational movement with respect to the tray such that a bird access opening in the cover may be adjustably positioned downwind of the feeder in its use position.

  • Patent number: 4432335
Abstract: A stove apparatus which is designed to achieve relatively complete combustion of solid fuel such as wood or coal. A combustion chamber is defined by a connected wall housing and includes a primary flue opening at an upper rear portion thereof. Primary combustion air enters into the forward portion of the combustion chamber and the resultant combustion gases are deflected from normally passing to the chimney via the primary exit flue by means of a downwardly extending baffle which creates an increased temperature exit zone adjacent thereto. A device for introducing secondary combustion directly into said exit zone is provided so as to insure more complete combustion and reduce the amount of tars, i.e., creosote, produced in the combustion process. In addition, an unique device for regulating the amount and the combustion chamber is provided.
