  • Publication number: 20060203010
Abstract: A method for creating composite images of multiple objects using standard commodity graphics cards is provided that eliminates the need for expensive specialty graphics hardware for generating real-time renderings of the composite images. After the desired composite image and the objects contained in the composite image are identified, a volume rendered image of a first object is obtained. In addition, at least a first geometric representation and a second geometric representation of a second object based upon a desired composite image of the first and second objects are generated. These geometric representations are preferably polygonal representations. The volume rendered image and the geometric representations are used to create a plurality of composite image components. Each composite image component contains at least one of the volume rendered image, the first geometric representation and the second geometric representation.

  • Patent number: 6557936
Abstract: An integrated child's seat (10) is provided for a motor vehicle seat. The child's seat (10) is displaceable between a low and an unfolded raised position. It has a base portion (12) and a support portion (14) which are pivotably connected by front and rear parallelogram arm devices (16, 18). A diagonal strut device (40) is linearly movably guided with a guide end portion (42) along a guide device (44) provided on the support portion (14) or on the front parallelogram arm device (16). The diagonal strut device (40) is pivotably connected with its second end portion (52) to the rear parallelogram arm device (18) by a pivotal connection (58). The rear parallelogram arm device (18) has a weak crash location (38) so that in the unfolded condition of the child's seat (10) with a corresponding weight on the support portion (14), the rear parallelogram arm device (18) buckles at the weak crash location (38) and the support portion (14) dips downwardly with its rear end part.

  • Patent number: 5360931
Abstract: A continuous multistage process for the preparation of (cyclo)aliphatic diisocyanates comprising a) condensing urea with a (cyclo)aliphatic diamine in the presence of an alcohol solvent to make a (cyclo)alkylenebisurea in a distillation reactor; b) reacting the crude (cyclo)alkylenebisurea with alcohol in a pressurized distillation reactor to make (cyclo)biscarbamate; c) removing the ammonia formed in the pressurized distillation reactor; d) cleaving the (cyclo)biscarbamate in the presence of a catalyst in a combined cleavage and rectifying column to make crude (cyclo)alkylene diisocyanate; e) reacting a diverted portion of the cleavage products with the alcohol to form a recycling mixture; f) and distilling the crude (cyclo)alkylene diisocyanate formed in step d.

  • Patent number: 5087739
Abstract: A circulation process for the production of (cyclo)aliphatic diisocyanates, in which the biscarbamate is produced from diamines, by-products from the thermal cracking, urea, and alcohol in the presence of N-unsubstituted carbamates and dialkyl carbonates, and with separation of NH.sub.3 ; the subsequent cracking of the biscarbamate is carried out in the liquid phase without solvent; the diisocyanate and alcohol are condensed; the diisocyanate is subjected to a purifying distillation; and a portion of the cracking reaction mixture is discharged with the by-products formed and recycled to the biscarbamate production step after prior reaction with the crude alcohol formed, effectively utilizes the by-products formed in the cracking step and is an industrially practical and economical process.

  • Patent number: 5032728
Abstract: A single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) system for producing transaxial images in a plurality of transaxial planes through a body. The SPECT system includes a detector system with an in-plane spatial resolution that is determined by the in-plane spatial resolution of collimator modules disposed in a ring around the body to be imaged. Photon detectors and related circuits merely determine a position in a photon detector matrix having discrete azimuthal positions that correspond to the physical size of a collimator module. Axial spatial resolution or slice thickness for the detector system is determined either by collimator modules or by collimator modules in conjunction with the intrinsic resolution of the photon detectors.

  • Patent number: 4748328
Abstract: A single photon emission computed tomograph comprising a detector ring and a rotatable collimator assembly disposed within the detector ring. The rotatable collimator assembly comprises four collimator quadrants, and each of the four collimator quadrants comprises a plurality of collimator modules with their axes assembled in parallel. Each of the modules contains a plurality of inwardly directed channels focused to a single point on its own axis with a long focal length. The focal length of each of the collimator modules is individually and flexibly chosen to suit a particular imaging task. The four collimator quadrants are installed in the rotatable collimator assembly at a slightly different angular offset so as to achieve fine data sampling.
