  • Patent number: 8640705
Abstract: An intraoral anti-snoring device, for shifting the lower jaw forward in relation to the upper jaw, with an upper jaw bar and a lower jaw bar that are both U-shaped and are connected to each other in a hinge joint at their outer flanks facing away from each other via protrusion ties by means of fixing buttons. At each of the two end sections of the protrusion tie, a round hole is provided for accepting the fixing button. The invention proposes a curved design for the protrusion tie, specifically an S-shaped design, with the center section having a cross-sectional contour—at least in part—that permits a temporary change of the distance of the round holes relative to each other by means of an elastic deformation of the protrusion tie in the longitudinal and in transverse direction. Preferably, the center section has an elongated hole that extends from one round hole to the other round hole and has a width that is smaller than or equal to the diameter of the round hole.

  • Patent number: 8123521
Abstract: A device for the registration of a mandibular position that is protruded relative to the normal position, with an impression plate that is flat on both sides and whose shape corresponds to the bite of the upper and the lower jaw, whose inner and outer contour is U-shaped, that comprises, in the area of the limbs of the U, finger-like registration surfaces that extend from the inner contour to the outer contour and are arranged at a distance from each other, and that is capable of limited elastic deformation in this area. Centered in relation to the limbs of the U, bite cones for accepting the upper incisors are arranged on the upper surface of the impression plate.

  • Patent number: 5625685
Abstract: A network termination unit to connect a plurality of analog terminals and digital terminals to a U interface of an ISDN telecommunications network. An echo compensator is connected to the U interface to suppress an echo signal produced by the attachment of the terminal device to the U interface. A first bus connects the echo compensator to a communication controller, an a/b interface component block that is compatible with an a/b interface to which an analog terminal is connected, and an S interface component block to which a digital terminal is connected. A processor system, connected to communication controller and a/b interface component block, programs the echo compensator and the S interface component block. B channels of the ISDN telecommunications network are activated and deactivated in response to commands issued by the communication controller. The processor system further evaluates and prepares D channel signalling data for the a/b interface component block.

  • Patent number: 4570180
Abstract: Method and apparatus for automatic optical inspection of a substantially two-dimensional pattern using digital image processing techniques are described. In a first processing step, all regions of a digitized stored image derived from the two-dimensional pattern are scanned for edges or lines, that is, transitions between regions having optically different characteristics. The scanned edge regions are marked in the image storage. In a subsequent second processing step all non-marked regions of the image storage are scanned and tested for the presence of permissible grey levels. A meander-shaped scanning track is used for scanning the edge or lined regions. The apparatus for implementing this method includes special latch circuitry for eliminating the further processing of marked regions, thus increasing the overall speed at which the two-dimensional pattern can be optically inspected.
