  • Patent number: 9157247
Abstract: An apparatus for use with a masonry block. The apparatus includes a body part that is at least substantially planar, has a perimeter, has a front surface and an opposed rear surface. The apparatus also includes a ¼ block stop part extending from the front surface and a ½ block stop part extending from the rear surface, the body part being dimensioned and the stop parts being positioned and dimensioned such that, when the body part is operatively positioned in a first configuration with the ¼ block stop part abutting the block, the perimeter of the body part can be used to mark the block for a ¼ block cut and when the body part is operatively positioned in a second configuration with the ½ block stop part abutting the block, the perimeter of the body part can be used to mark the block for a ½ block cut.

  • Patent number: 8036927
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method, computer system and computer program for stock keeping. An embodiment of the invention determines forecast values of quantities to be consumed of a stock keeping unit for at least two different forecast time spans depending on a historical consumption data. The invention further determines order values of order quantities for each forecast value depending on a respective forecast value, stock keeping costs and ordering costs. The invention further determines an associated order quantity time span for each order value. The invention further determines a respective pair of forecast value and order value with the least deviation between forecast time span and order quantity time span from forecast values, forecast values respective forecast time spans, the order values and the order values respectively associated with order quantity time spans. The invention further processes the determined pair of forecast value and determined order value.

  • Patent number: 6192057
Abstract: Disclosed is a mechanism to control telecommunication connections via digital switching networks like the ISDN. Frequently observed scenarios are a caller who is connected to an answering machine, although he intended to talk to a human individual, or where a node is shared by more than one individual and the caller wants to talk to a definite person likewise. Subscriber information is interchanged between a calling device and a called device before setting up the connection which is utilized to inform the caller about the device type at the called side or to inform the called side about the desired person. In the ISDN, a called device sends an ALERTING message to a switching center before accepting the connection. The switching center forwards a part of that message to the calling device which includes the so-called USER—USER Information Element (UUIE). In that USER—USER IE, an information like “UNDER THE CALLED NUMBER AN ANSWERING MACHINE IS BECOMING ACTIVE” can be coded.
