  • Publication number: 20100178186
Abstract: The invention relates to a motor having an inner motor compartment (18). A rotatable rotor (20) can be driven by applying a pressure medium to it, wherein the pressure medium expands in a working region (40) of the motor compartment (18). A brake element (22) for braking the rotor (20) is disposed axially adjacent thereto. The brake element (22) and the rotor (20) are axially displaceable in relation to one another and form a spring-loaded friction pair (48, 50). In order to be able to achieves a higher braking effect due to stronger springs (52), a pressure chamber (60) is provided, the extension of which in the cross-section thereof is larger than the cross-sectional extension of the motor compartment (18) in the working region (40). The pressure chamber (60) is delimited axially at least on one side by the brake element (22).

  • Patent number: 6046419
Abstract: A device for turning an electric motor on and off implements an expedient instantaneous turn-on or turn-off switching operation in which contact bridges are released for closing or pushed open by means of a spring-operated over-center device. Pivoting elements are rotated by means of the switching slide via their articulated legs such that, when the dead-center position, which is located between the axes of the pivoting elements, is overcome, one pivoting element axis is shifted in a quick-action motion. As a result of the contact bridge control levers, which are provided in different angular positions on the respective pivoting elements, a sequential switching of two contact bridges can be implemented such that initially the first contact bridge and then the second contact bridge are released for closing under the action of the contact closing spring while for opening initially the second and then the first contact bridge may be pushed open in opposition to the contact closing spring.

  • Patent number: 4375023
Abstract: A movable, tubular-shaped contact element is displaceably guided in a partition wall subdividing the internal space of the gas-blast switch housing into an extinguishing chamber and an expansion chamber. During the cut-off stroke a current connection prevails by means of this contact element between both of the chambers or compartments. The contact element coacts with a stationary or fixed contact set having a rim of rated current contacts which, in the cut-on position, engage about the contact element. Further, there is provided a burn-off ring which is electrically connected with the contact element and has an electrically insulated, suspended intermediate electrode which, in the cut-on position, engages into the contact element or piece. The latter, during the cut-off stroke, initially comes out of engagement with the rated current contacts and first thereafter comes out of engagement with the intermediate electrode.

  • Patent number: 4296289
Abstract: A movable, substantially tubular-shaped contact element coacts with a fixed set of contacts which, in turn, possesses a rim of rated current contacts, a burn-off rim electrically connected with the rated current contacts, and an intermediate electrode arranged electrically insulated from the rated current contacts. In order to prevent, during the cut-off operation, commutation of the base point of the arc from the burn-off rim back to the contact surfaces of the rated current contacts, the burn-off rim is arranged within the rim of rated current contacts and inwardly offset with respect to their contact surfaces. In the cut-on position the burn-off rim surrounds a burn-off tip secured at the end of the movable contact element. The burn-off tip engages with the intermediate electrode. Between the contact surfaces of the rated current contacts and the burn-off rim there can be arranged an insert formed of a material which, in the presence of an arc, gives off a gas.

  • Patent number: 3970811
Abstract: The insulation nozzle of a puffer type breaker has flexible contact fingers disposed along the walls of the nozzle upstream of the gas flow path through the nozzle. The flexible contact fingers engage a hollow tubular stationary contact which extends through the nozzle orifice when the interrupter is closed. A central arcing contact is fixed to the flexible contact fingers within the nozzle and projects into the interior of the stationary tubular contact when the contacts are closed. A plurality of main finger contacts are connected to the stationary contact, and slidably engage an outer main movable contact sleeve fixed to the movable arcing contact and the insulation nozzle. The movable contact sleeve forms a bridging connection between the main terminals of the interrupter when the interrupter is closed. The main bridging contacts disengage before the interior contact fingers within the nozzle disengage the stationary contact tube so that the outer fingers do not interrupt power currents.
