  • Patent number: 4750270
Abstract: A measuring ruler, having a straight edge and a set of subunit measuring indicia adjacent the edge, wherein the indicia comprise a series of first and second measuring marks of equal width, in side-by-side alternating arrangement, normal to the edge, wherein the color of the first marks is in stark visual contrast to the color of the second marks.

  • Patent number: 4409873
Abstract: A plurality of straight-edge sections may be joined together by connector pieces. The connector pieces and straight-edge sections incorporate cooperating ribs and channels. The connector piece incorporates ribs with provision for flexing. When the connector pieces forced into the straight-edge sections a wedging jamming relationship is established that holds the straight end sections in aligned relationship. The undersurface of the straight-edge sections incorporates parallel slots which cooperate with rails on a taping flange. The entire assembly may be positioned on the workpiece by the use of the plurality of taping flanges secured to the work surface by adhesive tape.

  • Patent number: 4128030
Abstract: A square incorporating a guiding edge. Indicia on the square is utilized to position the guiding edge a distance corresponding to the blade platform edge offset of a power saw. The indicia are utilized both in measuring the offset and in positioning the guiding edge. Finger openings are provided so that the square may be held onto the work piece while the saw is positioned and guided by contact with the guiding edge. Marking serrations make it possible to mark lines at selected positions parallel to the edge of the work piece.

  • Patent number: 4028976
Abstract: A system for making an accurate linear cut on work stock characterized by utilizing an indicator that is notched to reflect the distance from a power tool cutting blade to the base plate follower edge. In customizing an indicator, a straightedge is fastened to a cutting board and the indicator is butt against the straightedge. The follower edge of the power tool guides the tool as it cuts through the cutting board until it notches the indicator on its edges. Nails fasten the indicator to the cutting board and are driven through recesses in the base of the indicator, to free it for use in conjunction with the stock to be cut. An adjustable indicator can be adapted for use with a variety of power tools and comprises a pair of parallel slide rails and at least one split bracket. The bottom section of the bracket is notched and the sections of the bracket are releasably connected by a fastener.

  • Patent number: 3965865
Abstract: A poultry carrier includes topless and bottomless separators defined by open beam frusto-pyramidal construction. The vertical beams of the separators are spaced such that a chick would not be able to squeeze through in the event of rupture of a single vertical beam. The bottom edges of the separators are scalloped for penetration into sawdust or chick matting in which the chicks are normally shipped. The top and bottom enclosures of the separators are removable and usable as feeders during the infancy of the chicks. The sides of the feeders are hingedly connected and include chick toe-guards disposed along the edges thereof. Mating male and female parts in the top and bottom enclosures permit the stacking of separator combinations for purposes of shipment.
