  • Publication number: 20250057277
Abstract: A shock absorber assembly (10, 10?, 10?) for a personal protective equipment and a deformable element (10a, 10a?, 10a?) for such a shock absorber assembly (10, 10?, 10?). The shock absorber assembly (10, 10?, 10?) comprises a deformable element; (10a, 10a?, 10a?) exhibiting a mechanical resistance against deformation and a flexible strap (16, 17) comprising a middle portion (16b) and two free end portions (16a) facing away from each other. The middle portion (16b) is tightly wrapped around the deformable element (10a, 10a?, 10a?) such that pulling the free end portions (16a) away from each other deforms the deformable element (10a, 10a?, 10a?).

  • Publication number: 20230390595
Abstract: A harness shock absorber assembly for a personal protective equipment and a harness shock absorber for such a shock absorber assembly. The shock absorber assembly comprises a deformable element exhibiting a mechanical resistance against deformation and a flexible strap comprising a middle portion and two protruding portions facing away from each other. The middle portion is tightly wrapped around the deformable element such that pulling the protruding portions away from each other deforms the deformable element. A fall protection safety harness comprising a harness shock absorber assembly according to the present disclosure. A method of retrofitting a harness shock absorber according to the present disclosure to a fall protection safety harness or to a SCBA harness.

  • Publication number: 20230354945
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a chin protector 10, 10?, 10? to be attached to a protective face shield 100, 100? or a protective helmet 200. The present disclosure further relates to an assembly 300, 300? of a protective face shield 100, 100? and a chin protector 10, 10?, 10? as well as to an assembly 400 of a protective helmet 200 and a chin protector 10, 10?, 10?. Moreover, the present disclosure relates to a kit of parts comprising a protective face shield 100, 100? and a chin protector 10, 10?, 10? as well as to a method of retrofitting a protective face shield 100, 100? with a chin protector 10, 10?, 10?. The chin protector 10, 10?, 10? is provided generally planarly and is bendable to a curved configuration for use. The chin protector 10, 10?, 10? is easily and quickly attachable to a protective face shield 100, 100? or a protective helmet 200 and provides for an increased freedom of selection.

  • Patent number: 11026464
Abstract: A strap retainer (4) for attaching a chinstrap (3) to a safety helmet (1). The strap retainer (4) includes a clip (5) that has a first latch (52A) that is movable between an engaged position and a retracted position. The first latch (52A) is resiliently biased toward the engaged position. The strap retainer (4) further has a slider (6) that is displaceable between a lock setting and a release setting. The lock setting causes a movement of the first latch (52A) toward the retracted position to be impeded, and the release setting causes the impeding to be suspended.

  • Patent number: 10881163
Abstract: A chinstrap connector (10) for a safety helmet (100) has a receptacle for attaching a chinstrap (201) to the chinstrap connector and a stud (12) for attachment of the chinstrap connector to the helmet. The stud is formed by at least two spaced stud retainers (13a, 13b) protruding from a body of the chinstrap connector. The body has a through-hole (14) that opens in the space between the stud retainers and a pin (15) which is placeable through the through-hole into the space to restrict a movement of the stud retainers toward each other. The invention helps facilitating the attachment of a chinstrap to a safety helmet and allows for retrofitting a safety helmet with a chinstrap.
