  • Patent number: 5310543
Abstract: The invention relates to liquid dentifrices which contain particulate siliceous abrasive cleaning agents, stably suspended in a liquid medium with the aid of a polysaccharide gum as suspending agent. By using a particulate siliceous abrasive cleaning agent with a specific surface area of between 50 and 900 m.sup.2 /g, and using a liquid medium which is free from polyol-type humectants, liquid dentifrices are obtained with satisfactory rheological properties. Preferably the compositions have a compositional viscosity index of between 3 and 30, said index being defined as ##EQU1## wherein S=concentration in % of thickening silica, if present, in the liquid medium and P=concentration in % of polysaccharide gum in the liquid medium.

  • Patent number: 5275803
Abstract: The present invention relates to liquid dentifrices which contain particulate abrasive material, stably suspended in an aqueous vehicle with the aid of a polysaccharide gum as suspending agent. It has been found that high levels of the particulate abrasive material can be stably suspended with less polysaccharide gum than in the prior art, if a small amount of an alkalimetal bicarbonate is included in the dentifrices. This also significantly reduces the loss of available F.sup.- in the dentifrice if a fluorine-containing anticaries agent such as sodium monofluorophosphate is included.

  • Patent number: 4537604
Abstract: Scouring cleaning compositions are disclosed in which the abrasive agent consists of agglomerates of finely divided abrasive material and an organic binder for agglomerating such material. Compositions of the invention have good soil-removing properties and improved non-scratching behavior. They are useful as powdered or liquid household products as well as skin-cleaning products.

  • Patent number: 4235758
Abstract: A clear and stable concentrated liquid detergent composition which is effective especially for dishwashing in both hard and soft waters containing as active detergent component a mixture of:(a) a magnesium alkylbenzene sulphonate derived from a linear C.sub.10 -C.sub.13 alkylbenzene having an average molecular weight of from 220-250 and containing at least 3.5% by weight of dialkyl tetralin, and(b) an alkali metal, ammonium or amine alkyl polyether sulphate and/or a nonionic surfactant. The liquid detergent composition has a clear point of below 20.degree. C. and is exceptionally low temperature stable.

  • Patent number: 3974849
Abstract: A valve assembly comprises a body having an inlet and an outlet, a chamber between the inlet and the outlet, a valve diaphragm fitted in the valve body and attached to a rigid closure member adapted to close the inlet with the periphery of the diaphragm supported by a wall of the chamber, and an auxiliary control, or pilot valve communicating with the chamber, said diaphragm comprising an annular member of rubber-like material with a thin outer peripheral portion and a thickened inner portion.
