  • Publication number: 20230029405
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for optimizing the formation protocol of a battery. The method can include the steps of: (a) providing a battery cell structure comprising an anode, an electrolyte, and a cathode including cations that move from the cathode to the anode during charging; (b) performing a first charge of the battery cell structure using a predetermined formation protocol to create a formed battery cell; and (c) determining a cell internal resistance of the formed battery cell. Therefore, one can compare the cell internal resistances of two battery cells formed by using identical battery cell structures and different formation protocols, and select a formation protocol if the first cell internal resistance of a first formed battery is greater than or less than the second cell internal resistance of a second formed battery.

  • Publication number: 20230022276
Abstract: The present disclosure describes various aspects of the implementation and design of Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) in 5G new radio (NR) applications. Aspects include methods, apparatuses, and computer-readable medium for one or more of multiple PDCCH search spaces, control resource block (CRB), irregular multiple slots or mini-slots grants, or fast control channel signaling for grant-free uplink (UL). For example, different scheduling entities can each have one or two search spaces defined (e.g., common and/or user equipment (UE)-centric search spaces). Also, CRBs can be used as units for PDCCH transmission instead of resource element groups/control channel elements (REGs/CCEs). In addition, irregularities in time domain, frequency domain, or both can be introduced in the granting of resource blocks (RBs) over multiple slots or mini-slots. Moreover, signaling can be used to indicate to a UE configured for grant-free UL the portion of the pool of resources available for grant-free UL.

  • Patent number: 11562376
Abstract: A system and method for identifying and authenticating a physical article to a virtual environment. A physical article, such as a decorative pin used in gameplay or some purchased article with anti-counterfeiting tag information, may be scanned by a mobile device and verified by a mobile device application. Such a process may uniquely identify a product as being associated with one particular customer, which may limit counterfeiting and may also allow the article to be incorporated in some form into a game or other virtual environment, such as in the form of an accessory for a game character.

  • Patent number: 11563541
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device, such as a user equipment (UE), may receive a message that includes downlink control information (DCI) pertaining to system information that is scheduled to be received from a base station. The UE may determine, based at least in part on the message, whether the system information that is scheduled is remaining minimum system information (RMSI) or is other system information (OSI), and searching a downlink bandwidth part for the scheduled RMSI or OSI determined from the message. The described techniques may serve to resolve ambiguity between RMSI and OSI, for instance, when scheduled in the same control region and having overlapping search spaces.

  • Publication number: 20230019372
Abstract: Various techniques related to authenticating and verifying the integrity of data received by a computer system from an external source (such as a sensor) are disclosed. Hardware circuits are disclosed that, along with the computer processor, allow for error-checking and authentication of data received by the computer system. For instance, the hardware circuits may generate a separate authentication code that can be compared to the authentication code in the data itself to determine whether or not the message is authentic and whether or not there is an error in the data. The disclosed techniques reduce the processing requirements of a computer system and can be implemented using simple hardware circuit designs.

  • Patent number: 11558885
Abstract: A wireless communication network includes a user equipment (UE) to receive a set of instructions, from a base station, to perform a simultaneous change of a set of current bandwidth parts (BWPs) to a set of new BWPs in a set of cells. The set of instructions schedules set of slots for the UE to receive and/or transmit a set of downlink and/or uplink signals via the set of new BWPs, respectively. The UE also determines a delay associated with performing the simultaneous change of the set of current BWPs to the set of new BWPs, respectively, and determines whether it is able to receive and/or transmit the set of downlink and/or uplink signals via the set of new BWPs in the set of slots satisfying the delay, respectively. A base station is also included to communicate with the UE to effectuate the aforementioned operation.

  • Patent number: 11543474
Abstract: A method is provided for sensing a magnetic field in a magnetic gradiometer of the kind in which pump light and light constituting an optical carrier traverse first and second atomic vapor cells that contain host atoms and that are separated from each other by a known distance. According to such method, the host atoms are prepared in a coherent superposition of two quantum states that differ in energy by an amount that is sensitive to an ambient magnetic field. Modulation of the optical carrier in the respective cells gives rise to sidebands that interfere to generate a beat frequency indicative of the magnetic field gradient. The host atoms are prepared at least in a mode that allows measurement of ambient magnetic field components perpendicular to the axis of the pump light. In such mode, the host atoms are spin-polarized by pump light while subjected to a controlled magnetic field directed parallel to the pump beam, and then the controlled magnetic field is adiabatically extinguished.
