Patent number: 11911339Abstract: A cap assembly universally structured for protectively enclosing differently dimensioned and configured additive ports of an IV container and including a housing, which may include a variably dimensioned interior, structured to receive the additive port therein, in an operative position. A cover is disposed in covering relation to the housing interior and a retaining structure is disposed within the housing in retaining engagement with the additive port. A closure structure is disposed on the housing in an attached orientation, structured to be resistant to detachment, concurrent to the operative position of the additive port within the housing. The operative position further includes the retaining structure disposed in retaining engagement with the additive port on the interior of the housing, concurrent to the attached orientation of said closure structure.Type: GrantFiled: August 17, 2020Date of Patent: February 27, 2024Inventors: Peter Lehel, Jonathan Vitello

Patent number: 11904149Abstract: A closure assembly for a syringe or other medical administering device includes an outer sleeve having an access opening and a tip cap removably disposed therein. The tip cap includes a flow restrictor structured for removable, flow restricting connection to the syringe. An indicator member is removably connected within the outer sleeve, in interruptive relation to passage of the tip cap through the access opening. A retaining structure is fixedly connected to the flow restrictor and movable therewith relative to the indicator member. The retaining structure and flow restrictor are collectively structured for retaining engagement of the tip cap with the indicator member, as the tip and indicator member are concurrently removed from the outer sleeve and as the tip cap is disconnected from the flow restricting connection with the syringe.Type: GrantFiled: February 18, 2021Date of Patent: February 20, 2024Inventors: Jonathan Vitello, Peter Lehel

Patent number: 11872187Abstract: A tamper evident seal structure for a vial septum or other cover having a housing including a sidewall terminating in oppositely disposed open and closed ends. A retainer is fixedly disposed within the housing and structured for retaining engagement with a portion of a vial, substantially adjacent the vial cover. The housing also includes a pressure member disposed within an interior thereof in attached, relation to the closed-end. The pressure member and the retainer are cooperatively disposed and structured to respectively exert pressure on the vial cover concurrent to retaining engagement with the vial. Tamper evident capabilities are at least partially defined by a detachment of a removable sidewall section from a remainder of said sidewall.Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 2021Date of Patent: January 16, 2024Inventors: Jonathan Vitello, Peter Lehel

Patent number: 11697527Abstract: A closure assembly for a medical container having a sleeve with a tip cap disposed therein in an accessible position relative to an access opening. A cover is fixedly secured to one end of said sleeve, opposite to said access opening and a retainer is fixedly secured within the sleeve, adjacent the cover and in a removably retaining engagement with the tip cap. The removably retaining engagement includes the retainer having one or more segments disposed in retaining engagement with an exterior of the tip cap. Upon detachment of the tip cap from the retainer and the removal thereof from the sleeve, the one or more segments are separable from one another and/or a remainder of the retainer, while being maintained in a captured position within the sleeve.Type: GrantFiled: September 11, 2020Date of Patent: July 11, 2023Inventors: Logan Hendren, Jonathan Vitello, Peter Lehel

Patent number: 11690994Abstract: A modular connector assembly for a medical container may include a plurality of covers and a plurality of adapters. Each cover is connectable to a cooperatively dimensioned medical container. Each adapter is attachable in fluid sealing engagement with each cover by an interface assembly including a first interface segment formed on each of said plurality of covers and a second interface segment formed on each of said plurality of adapters. The first and second interface segments and corresponding ones of the covers and adapters are initially separable and subsequently connected to define a fluid sealing engagement between connected ones of the cover and adapter. The structural configuration of each of the plurality of adapters is variable to define a different one of a plurality of medical connector types.Type: GrantFiled: July 15, 2019Date of Patent: July 4, 2023Inventors: Robert Banik, Peter Lehel

Patent number: 11357588Abstract: An assembly, for packaging and safely disposing of a needle structure, including a housing having at least one containment structure. The containment structure includes a hinge movably interconnecting a base and a needle retaining segment, between open and closed orientations. The retaining segment includes a compartment removably containing the needle structure therein and the base includes a chamber for reception of the compartment and medical needle therein, when in the closed orientation. The hinge normally biases the retaining segment and compartment outwardly at substantially a predetermined angular orientation relative to said base, in the open orientation, to facilitate access to the medical needle through an access opening in the compartment. A closure is fixedly connected to and movable with both the base and the retaining segment and is structured to removably secure said housing in said closed orientation.Type: GrantFiled: November 25, 2020Date of Patent: June 14, 2022Inventors: Patrick Vitello, Jonathan Vitello, Peter Lehel
