  • Patent number: 12160155
Abstract: A stator for an axial flux machine includes a central axis corresponding to the rotational axis of the axial flux machine; and ports for supplying and draining a cooling fluid; and an outer structure comprising an outer cooling channel to let the cooling fluid flow tangentially about the central axis; and the inner structure comprising an inner cooling channel to let the cooling fluid flow tangentially about the central axis; and the intermediate structure comprising symmetrically arranged stator members. A stator member has a ferromagnetic core, and a coil includes turns wound around the ferromagnetic core. The stator further has guiding walls configured to guide the cooling fluid between the outer and the inner cooling channels.

  • Patent number: 11936240
Abstract: A stator of the axial flux machine including an inner structure, an intermediate structure and an outer structure arranged coaxially around a central axis. The intermediate structure is arranged between the inner and the outer structure; and the inner structure includes a plurality of rotational symmetrical arranged stator elements a stator element having a ferromagnetic core and a coil wound around the ferromagnetic core; and the intermediate structure has a plurality of compression elements comprising a circular segment and a protrusion radially extending therefrom. The outer structure is configured to press the compression elements with the protrusions radially inward the inner structure against the stator elements, thereby compressing the coils and mechanically securing the stator elements.

  • Publication number: 20240088765
Abstract: An axial flux machine includes a rotor having: a first and a second rotor disk; a shifting element; a first and a second pair of mechanical mating elements, enabling an axial displacement of the first respectively second rotor disk relative to the shifting element by rotating the first respectively second rotor disk. An equal rotation of the first and the second rotor disk results in an equally-sized but opposite axial displacement of the first and second rotor disk; a coupling element, mechanically coupling the first and the second rotor disk, thereby blocking a rotation of the first rotor disk relative to the second rotor disk while allowing for an axial displacement.

  • Patent number: 11387710
Abstract: A yokeless stator for an axial flux machine, comprising a housing, the housing comprising a circumferential portion and a plurality of elongated portions extending radially inwards therefrom, and a plurality of discrete stator teeth arranged within the circumferential portion, each discrete stator tooth comprising a ferromagnetic material and an electrical winding; the housing further comprising an electrically isolating filling material filling empty space inside the housing. The circumferential portion of the housing is made of a first non-ferromagnetic material and the elongated portions are made of a second non-ferromagnetic material. The housing comprises a laminated structure, which comprises at least part of the plurality of inwardly directed elongated portions.

  • Patent number: 10087914
Abstract: A rotor assembly for a wind turbine is provided. The rotor assembly includes a central hub with a central rotation axis, and a plurality of vanes. Each of the vanes is attached to the central hub, and each of the vanes includes in part a cable system which cooperates with each respective vane and the central hub. The cable system includes a pair of cables. Both of the cables are aligned with the longitudinal axis of the respective vane, viewed along the central rotation axis. And both of the cables are on either side of a plane covered by the longitudinal axis of the respective vane. The plurality of vanes are only structurally interconnected via the central hub, and the cable system of each of the vanes has only one single pair of cables.
