  • Patent number: 8777530
Abstract: A tool holder has a first holder part for inserting into a receptacle in the machine tool and a second holder part for holding a tool. The tool holder has a conduit for directing a coolant and/or lubricant to the tool from a coolant and/or lubricant source. The tool has a conduit section for the coolant and/or lubricant for directing the latter to a machining point, and wherein, in the fitted state of the tool in the tool holder, the conduit is in contact with the conduit section at a coupling point. Provision is made for there to be an air feed line which directs compressed air from a compressed-air source into the region of the coupling point in such a way that the compressed air acts on the outer circumferential surface of the conduit and of the conduit section. Furthermore, methods for operating such a tool holder are described.

  • Publication number: 20110211925
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for generating a thread by a numerically-controlled tool machine (or: machine tool) using a thread generation tool, the thread generation tool being rotated by a tool spindle and simultaneously advanced according to the thread pitch in the axial direction, in order to generate a thread in a borehole of a workpiece. In order to increase the working velocity of the thread generation, the invention provides that the rotational velocity (?1) of the thread generation tool is geared up using a transmission gearing, which is situated so it is active between tool spindle and thread generation tool, in relation to the rotational velocity (?2) of the tool spindle. Furthermore, the invention relates to a numerically-controlled machine tool.

  • Publication number: 20070014647
Abstract: A device for supplying coolant and/or lubricant to a rotating/rotatable tool includes a flow duct with an interior space through which the coolant and/or lubricant can flow, and which can be coupled to a tool's flow duct and a seal between the two flow ducts. The seal can be made of a material that is of a higher elasticity than the material of the device's flow duct and the tool's flow duct. As such, the seal also has a high durability for the coolant and/or lubricant. The seal can be configured to bear against at least one surface of the device's flow duct and against at least one surface of the tool to prevent leakage of the coolant and/or lubricant as the coolant and/or lubricant passes from the device's flow duct into the tool's flow duct. Further, a device is disclosed for coupling the tool to the device that supplies the coolant and/or lubricant.
