Abstract: A system and method for allowing the temporary storage of large quantities of crude oil, refined petroleum product, other chemicals or products, and/or fresh water at an offshore location includes a group or groups of floatable concrete offshore crude oil storage tanks first floated to the secured predetermined locations. The floatable concrete offshore crude oil storage tanks rest on the ocean bottom and may be connected one to another by a manifold. The group or groups of floatable concrete offshore crude oil storage tanks are protected by a coordinated security system.

Abstract: The disclosed offshore oil transportation system includes an unmoored, dynamically positionable FSO located at a predetermined distance with respect to an offshore production platform or with respect to a point on the earth's surface. The FSO receives crude oil from offshore platforms and then offloads the crude oil into shuttle tankers which move the crude oil to onshore refineries or storage facilities.

Abstract: A system and method for the transport of the natural gas associated with the production of crude oil from offshore wells includes transforming the associated gas into a solid gas hydrate. The solid gas hydrate is mixed with liquid crude oil to form a pumpable slurry. The conversion of the gas into a solid gas hydrate and the mixing of the pumpable slurry may take place on a floating offshore storage vessel or on a shuttle tanker. The pumpable slurry is transported on a shuttle tanker to an onshore location where the solid gas hydrate may be extracted from the oil and the associated gas transformed from a solid gas hydrate back into a gaseous state.
