  • Publication number: 20130263417
Abstract: The invention relates to tools (1), such as crimping tools, comprising an acting part (31), for moving a movable tool (7) relative to a stationary tool (6) for example, wherein furthermore the acting part (31) can be moved in a motorized manner. In order to specify such tools in an advantageous embodiment, a longitudinal axis (L) of an electric motor (9) provided in order to drive the acting part (31) extends below the acting part (31) when the motor is horizontally oriented.

  • Patent number: 8474299
Abstract: A crimping tool has crimping dies arranged in a star shape directed at a crimping region and subjected to rotational action radially outwards for the crimping movement by means of an actuating part. The crimping dies are mounted about an axis of rotation transversely to the longitudinal extent thereof for pivoting-in and form an abutment region on the crimping region side of the axis of rotation. A radial movement and/or circumferential movement is brought about to coincide with the rotational action on the crimping dies, in order to obtain abutment of a crimping die in the abutment region thereof against the counter-abutment region of another crimping die adjacent to the crimping die in the pivoting direction or counter-pivoting direction.

  • Patent number: 8408293
Abstract: A novel method reduces methane slack when operating a biogas fermenter. When starting up a freshly charged fermenter, the methane portion of the produced biogas is initially so low and the portions of carbon dioxide and nitrogen are so high that the biogas cannot be directly used in a combined heat and power plant. Conventionally, the biogas generated during the startup phase has a small portion of methane that is discharged directly into the atmosphere or is flared off if the methane fraction is larger. The initially produced methane is consequently not used and becomes methane slack. To reduce methane slack, the biogas with the low methane fraction is fed to a gas treatment unit in which non-methane components of the gas mixture are partially separated, and the remaining gas mixture with a higher methane content is returned to the biogas fermenter until the methane fraction is sufficiently high.

  • Patent number: 8316554
Abstract: The invention relates to a measuring gauge and a method for determining the diameter or cross-sectional area of an object whose cross-sectional shape is adjustable such as, for example, a litz conductor. A first measuring disc comprising a helical slot running around the center of the measurement disc and tapering down is connected in a rotatable fashion by a central axial connection to a second measurement disc comprising a slot running steadily from the vicinity of the center to the edge, the slot tapering in the same direction as the slot of the first measuring disc. A material measure for reading the detected measurement is provided on one of the two measurement discs. When the measurement discs are counter-rotated to one another, the overlapping sections of the slots form an opening into which the object to be measured is inserted, and the size of the opening is altered by counter-rotating the measurement discs to one another.

  • Publication number: 20120264579
Abstract: A board apparatus for balance exercises and balance games (so-called “balance board”), having modifiable restoring forces, is presented. A support part for the user's body is tiltable on a base part around a longitudinal axis and a transverse axis, freely rotatable around a vertical axis, and mounted movably along the vertical axis. A restoring part generates restoring forces that counteract motions of the support part and can be modified by the user. The restoring part includes four elastomer springs that are arranged parallel to the longitudinal axis and to the transverse axis. By replacement, elastomer springs having a different spring force can be used. In addition, the elastomer springs can be offset inward or outward, enabling even more accurate adaptation of the restoring forces. In the context of a twist around the vertical axis, the restoring part always returns the support part into one of two initial positions that are located 180° opposite to one another.

  • Publication number: 20120159848
Abstract: A reactor has multiple reactor modules for endothermic reactions. Each reactor module comprises a reaction channel enclosed by a tubular boundary wall and having first and second ends. The reactor module has an inlet element for introducing reactants into the reaction channel. The inlet element is arranged at the first end of the reaction channel. The reactor module has an outlet element for discharging the reaction products from the reaction channel. The outlet element is arranged at the second end of the reaction channel. The reactor module has a heat supply device in the form of a porous burner arrangement that is arranged on the outside of the tubular boundary wall of the reaction channel. Because a porous burner arrangement is used instead of a heat source having catalytic combustion, high reactor performance is achieved at an economical price. The porous burner is substantially less expensive than a combustion catalyst.

  • Patent number: 8187869
Abstract: A biogas installation for production of biogas from biomass and methods for starting and shutting down a fermenter are disclosed. When biomass in a fermenter is used up, biogas production must stop, the fermented biomass removed, and the fermenter filled with fresh biomass. Biogas production and utilisation is maintained for as long as possible. When the methane concentration in the biogas outlet falls below an upper limit, the biogas line is disconnected. The biogas/off-gas mixture is fed out via an exhaust chimney until the methane concentration has fallen to a lower limit. The fermenter to be shut down is purged with fresh air, and the off-gas/biogas/fresh air mixture is fed out via the exhaust chimney until the carbon-dioxide concentration in the off-gas/biogas/fresh air mixture has fallen to a first limit. The fermenter is then opened to unload the consumed biomass and load fresh biomass.

  • Publication number: 20120067097
Abstract: A method and apparatus for monitoring the wear of manual pliers. The principles focus on manual pliers, in which press elements can be pressed onto a workpiece and the degree of pressing that can be achieved by actuating the manual pliers can be adjusted with a presetting device. A reference position of the presetting device is measured prior to a first use of the manual pliers, this measurement involving actuating the manual pliers. By an adjustment of the presetting device, the press elements are brought into a position with a reference degree of pressing. Next, after use, the wear position of the presetting device is measured in the same manner, to bring the press elements into a position with the degree of pressing. A message is output when the degree of the wear position deviates from the degree of the reference position by more than the degree of wear permissible.

  • Publication number: 20110287527
Abstract: A gas treatment appliance and a gas treatment process are provided. The proportion of tar is decreased in a product gas formed on the gasification of carbonaceous feedstocks. The product gas or synthesis gas formed on the gasification of carbonaceous feedstocks is generally highly polluted with tar. This tar-polluted gas is exposed to a solid support substrate which is a support for bacteria which degrade tar. Suitable bacteria are, in particular, bacteria that occur in biogas-generating processes. The bacteria contained in the solid support substrate convert at least some of the tars and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) contained in the product gas into shorter-chain hydrocarbon compounds and methane which are not an industrial problem, and so their proportion is reduced in the product gas leaving the support substrate. In this manner the tar pollution in a synthesis gas or product gas can be reduced in a simple and inexpensive manner.

  • Patent number: 8053228
Abstract: Disclosed is a bioreactor in which a supporting wall (100) or a retaining mechanism (100) that represents pressure relief for a gas-tightly embodied flap is provided behind the flap (14) used for filling and emptying the bioreactor while percolate is prevented from accumulating between the gas-tight flap and the retaining mechanism. The gas-tightly closable flap, which has a sufficiently large size, makes it easy to fill biomass into the container and remove the remaining biomass following the methanation process. The biomass applies substantial or at least a certain amount of pressure to the retaining system when the container is closed, whereby the flap is relieved of the load and can be embodied in a light and accurately sealing manner.
