  • Patent number: 6108272
Abstract: A system and method for determining the geographic relationship between a surface station and at least one diver, including a first and second devices for sending passive or active select signal frequencies and receiving select signal response frequencies data. A third and fourth devices for receiving passive or active select signal frequencies data and sending passive or active select signal response frequencies to the first device. A fifth and sixth device for processing data based on a cycle time and a seventh and eighth device for plotting the data received from the fifth and sixth devices.

  • Patent number: 5941274
Abstract: A method and system for securing the exposed valve stem of the hydrant valve system in order to conserve valuable reserve resources and maintain street water pressure by restricting the unauthorized use therefrom; including a first device keying the exposed valve stem, a second devise containing the exposed portion of the keyed valve stem, a third devise for maintaining ease of rotation, a fourth device for securing the second device to the existing valve system, and a fifth device for engaging and operating the first device.

  • Patent number: 5255653
Abstract: An engine throttle control system comprises a control unit for controlling the position of a throttle by means of a motor in response to a position transducer actuated by an accelerator pedal. A detector detects when a signal produced by the control system is outside a range of acceptable values and, for instance, shuts down the engine. In one embodiment, the detector detects whether power supplied to the motor is less than a value expected on the basis of the position and speed of movement derived from the output of a throttle position sensor.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 15, 1993
Date of Patent: October 26, 1993
Assignee: Lucas Industries Public Limited Company
Inventors: John M. Ironside, Peter M. Fox, Alistair M. McQueen, David R. Price
  • Patent number: 5193506

A detector detects when a signal produced by the control system is outside a range of acceptable values and, for instance, shuts down the engine. In one embodiment, the detector detects whether stress in an accelerator pedal return spring is less than a value expected.
