  • Publication number: 20200402628
Abstract: Methods and systems for evaluating a query perturbation, in a cell based assay representing a test state, are provided. Control data points having dimensions representing measurements of different features across control cell aliquots are obtained. Test data points having dimensions representing measurements of different features across test cell aliquots are obtained. A composite test vector is computed between measures of central tendency across the control data points and measures of central tendency across the test data points. Query perturbation data points having dimensions representing measurements of different features across perturbation cell aliquots are obtained. • Patent number: 9850145
Abstract: A water filtration system with power generating capability includes a membrane that receives relatively hot water on a dirty side, purifies the hot water, and transmits it to a clean side having relatively cold purified water. The system further includes at least one thermoelectric element coupled to the membrane that absorbs thermal energy from the dirty side and emits thermal energy into the clean side to generate electrical power. The system further includes at least one conductor electrically coupled to the at least one thermoelectric element that channels generated electrical power away from the at least one thermoelectric element.

  • Publication number: 20170225503
Abstract: A security paper is provided that includes at least one layer of fibrous substrate and a security deposit thereon. The at least one layer has a main body of a substantially uniform thickness and at least one aperture and/or zone of reduced thickness. The reduced thickness is non-zero and at least 15% less than the thickness of the main body. The security deposit includes at least one element that partially covers the fibrous substrate exposed in the at least one aperture and/or zone of reduced thickness. Therefore, when the at least one layer is split through its thickness into first and second portions, a hole is provided in the first portion and the at least one element is provided on the fibrous substrate of the second portion. A method of manufacturing the security paper and security documents including the security paper are also provided.

  • Patent number: 9034811
Abstract: Concentrated cleaning formulations for removing debris from hard surfaces and textile surfaces. An exemplary formulation includes a mixture of the following chemical components, in specified proportions: glycerin; monopropylene glycol; triethylene glycol methyl ether; a non-ionic surfactant; an emulsifier; soya methyl ester or canola methyl ester, or both; and hydroxypropyl sulfonate; The formulation is free of water other than insignificant amounts present in the chemical components combined to make the mixture. • Publication number: 20050276660
Abstract: A pavement joint 101, 102 disposed between two contiguous pavement slabs 103, 104 and 105 incorporating a shear key (12, 13, 22 and 23) and at least one hinge (37, 38, 39 and 40). The shear key and the at least one hinge are operative when at least one of the slabs is subjected to out-of-plane action P with the shear key transferring shear between the slabs, and the at least one hinge accommodating angular displacement of the slabs relative to the joint axis in at least one direction. • Patent number: 6128658
Abstract: A method for testing the remote wake-up function of a computer system, wherein the computer system includes a circuit for performing the wake-up function in response to a wake-up packet. First, the computer system sends over the network a broadcast message that includes the network address of the computer system. The broadcast message requests one or more directed responses from the computer systems on the network, where the directed responses represent directed test wake-up packets. Subsequently, the computer system receives the directed test wake-up packets and generates a list of computer systems, and the network address associated with each of the computer systems, that responded to the broadcast message. The computer system then sends directed messages to a subset of the list of computer systems that responded to the broadcast message, where each of the directed messages requests that the subset of computer systems send a delayed test wake-up packet.

  • Patent number: 3999163
Abstract: A secondary storage facility including magnetic tape, disk or drum units or other sequential access storage units. Each storage unit or drive connects to a controller by means of a device bus with asynchronous and synchronous paths. Status and controller information is coupled between the controller and a selected drive unit asynchronously over the asynchronous bus. Actual data transfers occur between the controller and a drive over the synchronous bus and between other units in the system and the controller using direct memory access or equivalent data transfers.
