Abstract: In accordance with some embodiments, systems, methods, and media for determining a position of an aerial system are provided. In some embodiments, a method comprises: receiving, from a 3D range sensor, position information indicative of a position of one or more objects in a sensor region during a first time period, wherein the position information comprises a plurality of points, each point of the plurality of points being associated with an altitude, and a 2D lateral position; receiving, from the tethered air system, an altitude value; identifying one or more points of the plurality of points with an altitude corresponding to the altitude value; and determining a current position of the tethered air system based on the 2D lateral position associated with the one or more points.

Abstract: A crown piece for an animal bridle comprises a soft, cushioned poll contacting portion that also comprises a strip of reinforcing and stabilizing material to produce a poll contacting portion that is more comfortable and more durable for horses, etc., while also being very effective in directing instructional forces to the animal's head. The strip of reinforcing and stabilizing material is any material that is strong, relatively non-elastic and durable when wet and can be a nylon webbing and many other materials. The strip of reinforcing and stabilizing material is isolated from the poll of the animal with a soft cover that can be calfskin or many other materials. A padding material can optionally be present inside the cover. A method of making the crown piece according to the invention is also disclosed.

Abstract: A saddle pad for laying on the back of a riding animal comprises a first side panel, a second side panel and a web from which the first and second side panels hang. The web includes a lengthwise groove configured and arranged to overly the spine of the riding animal, so that the panels resting on the flanks of the riding animal have a greater thickness than the web connecting the first and second panels to one another over the spine, where undersides of the first and second panels that contact the riding animal are made of lambskin.

Abstract: The aim of the invention is to configure a saddle backing (1) for a riding animal that is as anatomically compatible as possible. To achieve this, two lateral sections (3), e.g. consisting of lambskin (7) are interconnected by means of a web element (4), in which a recess (6) in the shape of a longitudinal groove is fashioned, said recess extending along the vertebral column (5) of the riding animal, in such a way that no pressure is exerted on said vertebral column (5). The weight of a rider is thus distributed over a large surface area on the lateral sections (3) lying on the flanks of the riding animal.
