  • Publication number: 20240131740
Abstract: The present invention relates to a shaving device includes a housing with a skin contacting surface and at least one cutting blade mounted in the housing, wherein the cutting blade has an asymmetric cross-sectional shape with a first face, a second face opposed to the first face and a cutting edge at the intersection of the first face and the second face. An intersecting line connects the primary bevel of the first face and the secondary bevel of the second face such that a first wedge angle q1 and a second wedge angle q2 are formed. Further, the clearance angle ? between the skin contacting surface and the primary bevel of the first surface is ?11°, the effective cutting angle ? between the skin contacting surface and the bisecting line of the first wedge angle q1 is ?10° and q1>q2.

  • Publication number: 20190250172
Abstract: The present application relates to a method for the prognosis of adverse outcomes in a subject comprising the following steps: (i) determining the midkine level in a sample of said subject; and (ii) comparing the determined midkine level to a control midkine level; wherein said sample is taken after the subject has been subjected to cardiovascular stress; wherein said control midkine level is derived from control sample(s) from one or more subjects not showing adverse outcomes, wherein the control sample(s) have been taken after said one or more subjects not showing adverse outcomes have been subjected to cardiovascular stress; and wherein a decreased determine midkine level as compared to the control midkine level is indicative of an adverse outcome.

  • Publication number: 20120244277
Abstract: A rotating mass component with high balancing quality is provided. The balancing is performed in a substantially automated manner and without chip formation. A method for balancing a rotating mass component, such as a rotor is achieved by deposition welding of welding points on the mass component. The mass symmetry respective to the rotation axis is improved. The deposition welding takes place through cold metal transfer welding, in particular of a plurality of individual mass points.

  • Patent number: 6193617
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a golf ball having a core surrounded by an outer cover. The outer cover is formed of conventional materials such as a natural or synthetic resin and in accordance with the present invention, a plurality of hard particles is disposed within the outer cover such that a predetermined number of the hard particles protrude from an outer surface of the outer cover. Preferably, the plurality of hard particles comprises diamond particles and the plurality of diamond particles are present in the golf ball cover such that about 1% to about 40% of the total outer surface area of the outer cover is occupied by the plurality of diamond particles.

  • Patent number: 6129953
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, a process for coating a titanium or titanium alloy golf club head is presented, wherein a brazing composition is securely adhered to the titanium or titanium alloy golf club head, preferably on the striking surface thereof. The brazing composition is disposed on the titanium striking surface and the golf club head is subjected to a vacuum furnace process. The vacuum process of the present invention is designed so that the brazing composition including the plurality of hard particles is securely bonded to the titanium striking surface to form a hard, durable striking surface on the golf club head.

  • Patent number: 6093113
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an iron-type golf club head having an improved sole configuration. In a preferred embodiment, the sole configuration comprises a planar surface, a first cambered surface, a second cambered surface, a third cambered surface and a fourth cambered surface. The first cambered surface is located at a heel portion of the club head and the second cambered surface is located opposite the first cambered surface at a toe portion of the club head. The third cambered surface is located proximate a leading edge which is located at the forwardmost progression of a ball striking surface of the golf club head. The fourth cambered surface is located proximate a trailing edge of a back portion of the club head.

  • Patent number: 5499219
Abstract: An electro-acoustical transducer arrangement for underwater antennas comprised of a plurality of hydrophones (10) which are arranged at equal distances in a linear array, and are to be disposed vertically above each other on a support. For reasons of a simplified assembly along with good receiving properties, the hydrophones (10), together with a reflector (11) disposed behind them in the direction of incoming sound, are embedded in an acoustically transparent rigid cast enclosure (20) of an elastomer, preferably polyurethane, which can be worked in a casting process. The connecting lines (12) of the hydrophones (10) of the enclosure 20 are combined in a common plug (13), which is accessible on a front end of the rigid cast enclosure (20). The rigid cast enclosure (20) is provided with devices for fastening the enclosure to the support.

  • Patent number: 4608857
Abstract: A method is provided for leak checking pipes or pipe networks wherein the leak check is effected by means of liquid under pressure in that a pressure change is determined. To improve the leak check by excluding temperature caused pressure changes, the liquid pressure in the pipes, pipe networks or pipe sections thereof is set to at least two different pressure levels as initial pressure for at least one respective pressure change determination. From the time standardized pressure changes associated with different initial pressures, a time standardized pressure change difference is formed and is compared with an allowed value with reference to the unit of time. A leak is determined to exist if the pressure change difference is greater than the allowed value.
