  • Publication number: 20060204419
Abstract: The raw natural gas is deacidized and dehydrated in units DA and DH. The treated gas is then purified by adsorption of the mercaptans in first enclosure A1. Part of the purified gas is heated in E1, then fed into second enclosure A2 so as to discharge the water adsorbed by the adsorbent material contained in this second enclosure. A steam-rich stream is fed into third enclosure A3 containing a mercaptan-laden adsorbent material. In A3, the mercaptans are desorbed and replaced by the steam.

  • Patent number: 6981580
Abstract: An apparatus having approximately parallel conveyors (2, 2?) for transporting and rotating an article (G) has multiple longitudinally arranged omnidirectional rollers (24), each omnidirectional roller (24) having multiple individual rollers (240) arranged about its periphery. The conveyors (2, 2?) extend in a transporting direction (T), bear against the bottom of the article (G), and rotate the article about an axis perpendicular to the article bearing plane. At least one conveyor can be driven at a speed different from the other conveyor to transport and rotate the article on the conveyor. The bearing portion of article (G) is subject to direction-dependent coefficients of friction with the transporting direction (T) having a static or sliding coefficient of friction that is higher than the rolling coefficient of friction in the direction perpendicular (S) to the transporting direction (T).

  • Patent number: 6913568
Abstract: An apparatus for removing a folding-box blank (Z) from a magazine and for erecting the same has a first retaining means (6) with means (62) for gripping a first box wall (W1) of the blank (Z) and a second retaining means (7) with means (72) for gripping a second, adjacent box wall (W2) located on the same side of the blank (Z). The two retaining means (6, 7) can be moved relative to one another in order to erect the box. This allows the folding-box blank to be removed and erected in a space-saving and efficient manner.

  • Publication number: 20050131317
Abstract: A feedback device for measuring balance related information, and for producing a stimulation of the skin that encodes that information in a way that is useful to the wearer of the device. At least one sensor detects balance information and transmits at least one balance information signal to a signal processing subsystem. The signal processing subsystem converts the received balance information signal into at least one stimulation control signal. The signal processing subsystem then transmits the stimulation control signal to at least one stimulator, which provides stimulation to a wearer of the device reflecting the stimulation control signal received from the signal processing subsystem.

  • Publication number: 20050011727
Abstract: An apparatus for transporting and rotating an article (G) has means for bearing the article (G) which are arranged in a bearing plane, and these means contain longitudinal and rotary conveyors (2, 2?). The conveyors (2, 2?) extend in the transporting direction (T) and are spaced apart at least more or less parallel to one another. They convey the article at different transporting speeds. The means (24, 25) have direction-dependent coefficients of friction in respect of the bearing plane, these coefficients of friction being greater, in particular, in the transporting direction (T) than those in a direction (S) which is perpendicular thereto, and runs in the bearing plane. The apparatus according to the invention thus allows straightforward rotation and transportation of articles, there being barely any need for the apparatus to be adapted to the shape and size of the articles.

  • Patent number: 6822634
Abstract: A handheld control device of a system is coupled to a display screen comprising a number of lines. The device comprises a pushbutton for each line. The user can scroll through a series of possible contents of a line associated with a pushbutton, but only if the relevant pushbutton is depressed. Changing the contents of the line by the user thus becomes a coherent operation, so that the device will less readily respond to unintentional actuation of the controls.

  • Publication number: 20030186652
Abstract: The invention relates to a system for unidrectional or bi-directional signal transmission between at least two elements (E1, E2), which constitute components of an electric power supply and signal transmission system (EVS) of vehicles. According to the invention, one of the elements (E1) is connected to at least one Bluetooth radio module (B1) and one of the other elements (B2) is connected to at least one Bluetooth radio module (B2). The unidirectional or bi-directional signal transmission between the elements (E1) and (E2) and to the Bluetooth radio modules (B1, B2) takes place via an electric cable, but is wireless between the Bluetooth radio modules (B1, B2). Several elements (E1, E2) that are connected to Bluetooth radio modules (B1, B2) can be combined to form a Bluetooth pico-network. The Bluetooth radio modules (B1, B2) permit bi-directional signal transmission. A maximum of eight Bluetooth radio modules (B1, B2) can transmit signals to each other in a Bluetooth pico-network.

  • Patent number: 6521782
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the manufacture of aqueous solutions of unsaturated quaternary ammonium salts. The salts can correspond to the following formula (I): in which R represents a methyl or benzyl radical, by reaction, in the presence of water, of N,N-dimethyl-amninoethyl acrylate (DAMEA) with a quaternizing agent of formula (II): R—Cl  (II) in which R is as defined above. Generally, the reaction is carried out in a closed reactor, which includes all the DAMEA and has been pressurized by air or depleted air to 0.5 to 3 bar, by continuously introducing, at a temperature of 35 to 65° C., the quatenlizing agent (II) and the water, until a concentration of salt (I) in the water is obtained. The water starts to be introduced beginning when 0-20% of the amount by weight of the quaternizing agent (II) necessary for the reaction has been added and it being possible for the pressure at the end of the reaction to reach 9 bar.

  • Patent number: 6189480
Abstract: A pointer assembly (12) is disclosed, which is mounted to a conventional gauge assembly (14). The assembly includes a pointer (20) having an elongated tapered body (70), with the body (70) having a proximal end (76) and a distal end (78). Illumination from a light source (36) is provided to a light pipe (34) which transmits the collected light from the source (36) upwardly toward a base (22) at a point forward of a gauge shaft (30). The transmitted light is redirected by a beveled surface (100) toward the rear where the light is once again redirected by a second beveled surface (104) thereof The light then travels upwardly into the proximal end (76) of the pointer (20), where it is redirected toward the distal end (78) of the pointer (20) by a third beveled surface (90). A liner (96) is provided which is mounted to the underside of the pointer (20). Light rays encountering the liner are reflected upwardly through the top surface of the pointer body (70).

  • Patent number: 6092351
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of applying pouring elements to flat-gabled packages filled with free-flowing products, where the pouring elements are glued to the individually conveyed and sealed packages, where a fully automatic application operation is possible, where trouble due to improper positioning and incomplete gluing of the pouring elements is reliably prevented. In addition, it is desirable to prevent packages not having the pouring elements attached to them from leaving the gluing station. This is accomplished by the following steps: horizontal conveyance of successively arranged packages standing upright, separation of the packages and introduction of the separated packages into a gluing station depending on the presence of a pouring element, applying adhesive to the pouring element and gluing and pressing the pouring element to a predetermined area of each package.

  • Patent number: 6049862
Abstract: A signal processor is disclosed having a program memory which stores compressed program instructions and a decoder device which decodes the compressed program instructions to form decoded program instructions for controlling functions of the signal processor. The decoder device has a programmable decoder and a fixed decoding arrangement, where the fixed decoding arrangement is non-programmable and hardwired for decoding the compressed program instructions using logical operations. The programmable decoder includes a decoder memory, such as a ROM or RAM, having cells for storing the decoded program instructions in an uncompressed form. These cells are addressed for executing programmable decoding functions of the programmable decoder. The compressed program instructions include a first number of bits for determining a category of the compressed program instructions and a second number of bits for determining the address of the cells.
