  • Patent number: 4337481
Abstract: A motion and intrusion detecting system wherein scanning at two different rates is carried out in order to more reliably detect fast and slow motion in a scene being viewed. Also, increased noise immunity is provided by providing a special scan which generates signals inhibiting generation of alarm indications corresponding to points at which a possible noise situation exists.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 10, 1980
Date of Patent: June 29, 1982
    Inventors: Peter Mick, Donald Beck
  • Patent number: 4081830
Abstract: A motion and intrusion detection system utilizing video techniques samples fixed points during a video scan of the field of view of a camera and stores information concerning the fixed scanned points. During subsequent scans, information concerning the respective scanned points is compared with previous scans and threshold conditions are set up in order to detect an alarm condition. Further, apparatus is provided to change the field of view of the video system and in order to automatically focus and zoom in to magnify a particular portion of the field of view. Still further, means is provided to display a "map" of the alarmed areas on the screen of the television monitor.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 17, 1976
Date of Patent: March 28, 1978
    Assignee: Video Tek, Inc.
