Abstract: A display and vending device for stackable articles such as cigarette packages or the like is suspended from overhead supports, for example, at the check-out counter of a retail store. The articles contained in the device are accessible only to the cashier but are visible to the customer. The device includes a frame having a plurality of vertical dividers which separate the stacks of articles and which enable the articles to be gravity fed. Means are provided for displacing the lowest article in each stack so that it projects from the stack and is easily grasped by the cashier.
