  • Publication number: 20220284431
Abstract: A system and method for electronic payment that involves generating and then using a temporary token based on a legacy PAN (Primary Account Number) to conduct an electronic transaction. The token is generated by transforming the PAN using specific inputs such that the original PAN can be recovered by manipulating the token in various ways as disclosed herein. One potential manipulation that may be used is encryption/decryption. The token is transmitted to a portable electronic device such that the portable electronic device may present the token to a point-of-sale device. The POS communicates the token to a server which validates the token by, among other things, recovering the PAN. If the PAN is recovered as expected a validation message is returned to the POS device.

  • Publication number: 20160104154
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing token generation and password verification are disclosed. The system may be configured to receive a password input by a user, wherein the password is not stored on the system prior to receiving the password, and to generate an encryption key based on the password. The system may further be configured to decrypt a token using the encryption key and, in response to verifying that the token was properly decrypted, decrypting a credential using the encryption key. The system may additionally be configured to initiate a near-field communication transaction with a reader using the decrypted credential.

  • Publication number: 20070076862
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and circuit for inputting phrases to a wireless mobile device and retrieving the saved phrases. For retrieval of the phrase, the user will enter a numeric sequence which represents the first letter or symbol of the words of a phrase. The method includes inputting to the wireless communication device a phrase having a plurality of words, each word having a starting letter or symbol. The wireless communication device can process the phrase to correlate one key of the keyboard to the starting letter or symbol of each of the plurality of words of the phrase to generate a numerical sequence representative of the phrase. The user then uses the keypad to input into the wireless communication device the numerical sequence to generate the phrase.
