Abstract: A sugar cane harvester which includes a conveyor for conveying sugar cane billets and a rake assembly suspended above the billet conveyor and including a number of spaced apart prongs which engage billets on the conveyor to strip trash and leaves therefrom and level out the billets on the conveyor.

Abstract: Apparatus (10) for dispensing toxic granular, pelletized, or particulate material to vermin such as rodents including a hollow pipe member (11) defining a reservoir for the material to be dispensed and arranged to be supported in a hole (15) in the ground and extend upwardly therefrom, an open topped container (12) supported coaxially on the pipe (11), and an aperture (16) in the wall of the pipe adjacent to the container (12) so that toxic material may pass therethrough into the container and a cover (13) supported coaxially on the pipe (11) and extending over the container (12) to shield the container (12) from adverse weather conditions such as rain.

Abstract: Apparatus for planting cane billets including a bin assembly for carrying cane billets to be planted, a rotor supported at one end of the bin assembly, the rotor having a plurality of vanes which gather billets from the top of the bin assembly and direct billets into grooves between the vanes for depositing into a hopper, the hopper having a pair of endless conveying chains at its lower end, the chains moving in opposite directions to convey billets to feed chutes for depositing in a planting furrow.

Abstract: Apparatus for association with a container of the type having a flexible discharge spout, the apparatus including an elongated support, a spring loaded reel and a line wound on the reel and fixed to the support to form a loop which is placed about the spout. A pawl and ratchet assembly are associated with the reel such that when the pawl is engaged, the reel will wind in the line to reduce the size of the loop to constrict the discharge outlet of the container.

Abstract: Protection apparatus (15) for use with universal drive shafts (13) and including a sensor (16) mounted in spaced relationship relative to the shaft (13) and actuated when the shaft undergoes a predetermined degree of movement beyond its normal attitude, actuation of the sensor causing drive to be removed from the drive shaft (13) and/or generation of a warning signal.

Abstract: A cane harvester (10) having an endless conveyor (15) for elevating cane billets from a chopper (14) for deposit through a passage (44) onto a secondary elevator (16). A fan (17) directs a blast of air across the pasage (44) to force trash and leaves through an outlet chute (18). A rake assembly (25) is provided above the conveyor (15) to level and even the billets and trash thereon and an air jet arrangement (47, 48, 57, 58) is disposed at the upper end of the conveyor (15) to prevent build up of trash and assist the conveyance of trash and billets through the passage (44). A trash deflecting assembly (74) is provided in the outlet chute (18) so that the direction of trash exiting therefrom can be selectively varied.
