  • Patent number: 7510826
Abstract: A process for the depletion or removal of endotoxins from preparations containing active ingredients designated for therapeutical use which are obtained from natural sources by genetic engineering and/or biotechnology by treatment with chromatographic material wherein said natural sources are lysed, the fractions obtained are optionally centrifuged, filtrated or treated with affinity chromatographic methods; said fractions are preincubated with an aqueous salt solution and detergents, treated with anion exchange material and then washed with another salt solution, and the active ingredients are eluted from the anion exchanger, followed by further purification in a per se known manner.

  • Patent number: 7481981
Abstract: The apparatus for the esterification of a fatty acid F includes a column with a packing. In addition to functioning as a catalytic reactor, the packing functions as a stripping section. A heteregenous catalysis of a fatty acid is carried out with an alcohol used in the same molar ratio or in excess. A gaseous alcohol-rich counter-flow is produced in a sump of the column by vaporization. Water is removed from the reaction zone by means of the counter-flow acting as a stripping gas. The loaded stripping gas is at least partially liquefied at the head of the column. The head product is separated into a water-rich fraction as well as an alcohol-rich fraction. The alcohol-rich fraction is returned to the process as a starting material for the esterification and for the production of the stripping gas.

  • Patent number: 7041199
Abstract: A process and a device for the catalytic hydrolysis of a carboxylate, e.g., methyl acetate, ethyl acetate, i- or n-propyl acetate, i- or n-butyl acetate, allyl acetate and methyl formate, into the corresponding carboxylic acid and alcohol, by a combination of a pre-reactor and a reactive distillation column are disclosed. By the combination of a pre-reactor and a reactor distillation column, the conversion ratio can be substantially improved. The device can compensate for fluctuations in the supply quantity or in the composition of the feed flow. The product composition can also be controlled in a wide range.

  • Patent number: 6970901
Abstract: A method is defined with which various parts of a service logic are distributed onto different entities of a system and can collaborate and communicate with one another. An apparatus is specified with which a customer of an intelligent network can use a service at a provider, the service logic thereof running partly centrally at the service provider and partly relocated in, for example, the terminal equipment of the customer.

  • Publication number: 20040044719
Abstract: The aim of the invention is to produce a network-independent definition and control of services which permits the carrying out of all services on networks connected to the service controller. Said aim is achieved by means of a system, permitting a control of multimedia information and communication services, independent of any aspect of the applied communication network. The service manager unit comprises two basic blocks, the service control unit and the communication control unit. The service manager unit permits the execution of services, requested by a user, by means of various information and communication networks. The networks are selected according to the access for the requested service by a communication control unit. The executing of the service in the service control unit occurs independently of the network selected and the network specific details thereof.

  • Publication number: 20030124038
Abstract: The reactive distillation is carried out in a column (1) with a packing (2) which is at least partly designed as a catalyst carrier (23). Fluids (3, 4) which form two phases of different densities flow through the packing. An internal volume flow (300) is set for the denser fluid (3), the value of which lies in an interval (I) about a distinguished value (a), with this value being associated with a dwell time distribution (32) of the denser fluid: For the distinguished value the variance (s) of the dwell time distribution—as a function of the internal volume flow—takes on a minimum; and at the boundaries of the named interval the internal volume flow does not differ from the distinguished value by more than 30%, preferably by more than 10%.
