  • Publication number: 20240145907
Abstract: The present invention provides a magnetoelectric multiferroic, time-variable magnetic field transmitter based upon a resonant structure capable of enhancing the transmitted field at the structural resonant frequency. This transmitter utilizes a single crystal piezoelectric as the source of mechanical excitations with a laminated transduction element to reduce eddy currents in the magnetostrictive material thereby reducing losses at higher frequencies. The structural resonance frequency can be tuned by adjusting the size of the masses, position and strength of bias magnets, pre-stress conditions and physical parameters of the transduction column elements.

  • Publication number: 20240126108
Abstract: The present invention provides an optical switch capable of functioning as an optical limiter, modulator, and dynamic attenuator utilizing a ferroelectric single crystal as the functional medium. The functionality is based upon a dynamic ferroelectric-to-ferroelectric phase transition occurring in the single crystal which can be perturbed through a hysteretic transition from an opaque to transparent state through the application of a compressive stress, an electric field, or both to the crystal.

  • Patent number: 11946375
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to a rock anchor with condition monitoring for determining tensions or deformations in form of a conductor trace which is applied on an anchor body, whose electrical resistance changes proportionally with respect to the tension/deformation. The conductor trace may consist of an electrically conductive ink which is directly applied on the anchor body by a printing method.
