  • Publication number: 20240068503
Abstract: A clamp device for clamping a boom hinge rail 12 of gantry crane in-situ comprises a cap portion 14 slidably mounted on a base portion 13 and secured together by a Locking bolt 15, the cap portion 14 comprising a body 18 and a nose 19 which extends laterally outwardly from the body 18 along a nose axis. The clamp portion 13 and the body 18 of the cap portion 14 comprise complementary opposed arcuate mating surfaces 21, 22 which permit rotational movement to the cap portion 14 relative to the base portion 13 about an axis P which extends perpendicular to the 10 nose axis. The base and cap portions 13, 14 of the clamp always engage each other regardless of the position of the nose of the clamp, so that forces applied to the nose 19 of the clamp 10 by the rail 12 are directly applied to the base portion 13 of the clamp 10, thereby providing a clamp which is less prone to failure.

  • Publication number: 20220282430
Abstract: A rail fastening device (10) comprises a clip 16 and a washer (17) for fastening to a rail support (12) by an upstanding bolt 14 having a nut (15), which can be tightened to lock the device (10) in position. The clip (16) and washer (17) comprise respective apertures (18), (19) for receiving the bolt (14). The washer (17) is adapted to rotate as the nut (15) is tightened until a formation on the washer (17) abuts an upstanding formation (24) on the rear of the clip (16) at point A, whereupon continued tightening of the nut (15) causes the washer (17) to pivot at point A around an offset axis, so as to bring the bolt (14) into contact with a front surface (18F) of the clip aperture (18). Further tightening of the nut (15) pivots the washer (17) to a point where any displacement force applied to the clip (16) by the rail is applied directly to the bolt (14) and not to the washer (17). In this manner, the risk of the washer failing, or bolt (14) bending is avoided.

  • Patent number: 10947092
Abstract: A rail fastening device (100) comprises a lower plate (11) and an upper plate (12) provided with a pair of clips (13) for engaging the rail 16, the upper plate (12) being fastened to the lower plate (11) by a pair of fastening bolts (19) which extend through respective apertures (20) in the upper plate (12), the fastening bolts (19) being slidably mounted to the lower plate (11) for movement in a direction which, in use, extends transverse the rail (16). A jacking bolt (31) is arranged to lift the upper plate away from the lower plate as the bolt (31) is tightened and vice-versa. An alignment bolt extends 33 laterally between the upper and lower plates (11), (12) and is rotatable to displace the upper plate (12) laterally relative to the lower plate (11). A levelling bolt (102) threadably engaged with the lower plate is arranged to lift the lower plate (11) away from the surface on which the device (100) is seated as the bolt (102) is tightened and vice-versa.

  • Patent number: 10604384
Abstract: There is proposed a rail member [see: 102] comprising a resiliently flexible elongate substrate comprising first and second major surfaces, the member comprising at least one channel formation [see: 202] formed transversally relative to the longitudinal axis of the elongate substrate across at least one of the first or second major surfaces, according to a first embodiment, an insert [see: 304] is positioned between the first and second major surfaces; according to a second embodiment, an insert [see: 304] ex tends longitudinally along the member.
