  • Publication number: 20150141572
Abstract: A process includes dissolving a first polymer in an aprotic solvent, absent a protic organic solvent, to form a polymer solution, neutralizing acidic residues present in the first polymer by adding a neutralizing agent to the polymer solution, contacting the polymer solution with water to form a latex, removing the aprotic solvent from the latex, capturing the removed aprotic solvent as recycled solvent, and dissolving a second polymer with the recycled solvent.

  • Publication number: 20080027752
Abstract: A system for managing, storing, and viewing medical records wherein the method includes a portable digital memory device, a network, a medical record database, and a physician review portal. The medical records are reviewed by a physician and summarized to a condensed form of essential elements of a medical record through remote computer connected to a network. The reviewed medical record is then transferred to a portable digital memory device that is carried by the patient. The reviewed medical record can be viewed through a remote computer connected to the network or through the portable digital memory device. Also, a software program on the server can extract core elements from an electronic medical record prior to physician review.

  • Publication number: 20070281877
Abstract: A method and composition for deodorizing soft surfaces such as carpeting and upholstery are disclosed. The method includes the spraying of a liquid composition on a soft surface and allowing the composition to absorb into the soft surface, form liquid agglomerations within the soft surface to the agglomerations can make contact with malodorants disposed within the soft surface. The composition is capable of penetrating rapidly and deeply into the soft surfaces for contacting odor-causing substances embedded therein. The composition comprises an active ingredient such as a glycol or triethanolamine. Other ingredients that contribute to the surface penetration and/or agglomeration formation include ethanol, water, fragrance and a combination of at least one nonionic and at least one ionic surfactant.

  • Patent number: 7292323
Abstract: An optical fiber detector, and a method and system for optical fiber detection are disclosed. One embodiment comprises a receptacle, to receive and position an optical fiber connector, an infra-red (“IR”) source for providing an incident IR beam onto a cross-sectional face of an optical fiber and a cross-sectional face of the optical fiber connector, and an IR detector for receiving a reflected IR beam from the face of the optical fiber and the face of the optical fiber connector and generating a detector signal representative of the intensity of the reflected IR beam, wherein the intensity of the reflected IR beam is representative of the presence and type of the optical fiber. It is contemplated that the optical fiber detector of this invention can be implemented or incorporated in any machine or system requiring connection of an optical fiber to a light source.

The method includes the spraying of a liquid composition on a soft surface and allowing the composition to absorb into the soft surface, form liquid agglomerations within the soft surface to the agglomerations can make contact with malodorants disposed within the soft surface. The composition comprises an active ingredient that is a liquid at room temperature with a vapor pressure of less than 0.0035 mmHg at room temperature. For example, the active ingredient can be triethylene glycol. Other ingredients that contribute to agglomeration formation include ethanol, water, fragrance and a combination of at least one nonionic and at least one ionic surfactant.

  • Publication number: 20060292111
Abstract: An air treating composition for eliminating odors from air in combination with specific spray valve and actuator requirements and spray performance parameters providing maximum dispersion of the active component in the composition into the air is disclosed. The particles of the composition are small so that the active component is dispersed into air as a fine dispersion to provide more contact with odors and to provide quick absorption of odors. The particle size of the composition is controlled through the selection of valve and actuator dimensions. The air treating and odor eliminating composition of the invention includes water, a low molecular weight polyol, an emulsifier, and a propellant. The composition may also include additional adjuvants such as solvent(s), fragrance(s), corrosion inhibitor, pH adjustor and the like.

  • Patent number: 6349858
Abstract: A dispense head assembly comprise a housing, and a body having a fluid inlet and outlet attached to the housing. A piston is disposed within the body and housing and is attached at one end to an actuating handle. A poppet/diaphragm is attached to the opposite piston end and includes an imperforate head, a thin-walled sleeve that extends axially away from the head, and a tongue that defines a terminal edge of the sleeve and that forms a leak-tight interference seal with the body. The poppet/diaphragm sleeve is rolled between opposite piston and assembly wall surfaces to provide open- and closed-flow poppet/diaphragm movement. A dip tube adapter is releasibly attached to the housing and body. A tongue and groove seal arrangement is used to form a leak-tight interference seal therebetween. A dip tube is attached to the second adapter body end to provide fluid pick-up from a fluid container to the dispense head assembly.

  • Patent number: 5997049
Abstract: A coupling system comprises a first coupling member having a tongue that projects axially a distance therefrom, and a second coupling member that is threadable attached to the first coupling member. The tongue is inserted within a groove disposed within a second coupling member body. The tongue is axially displaced within the groove by rotation of one of the first or second coupling member relative to the non-rotated coupling member to form a leak-tight seal therebetween. At least one of the first or second coupling member body includes a hollow passage that extends axially therethrough. An elastomeric member is disposed within the groove and is interposed between a base portion of the groove and an end portion of the tongue.
