  • Publication number: 20250259824
Abstract: A method includes extracting electrons from a remote electron source to negatively charge upper surfaces of a patterned layer with the electrons, and extracting positive ions from a remote ion source to selectively deposit a material on the upper surfaces by attracting the positive ions to the electrons of the upper surfaces. The upper surfaces may be negatively charged by concurrently applying a positive bias at the patterned layer and applying source power with a lower power level to generate plasma. The material may be selectively deposited by concurrently applying a negative bias at the patterned layer and applying source power with a higher power level to plasma. An extraction grid may separate the patterned layer from the plasma. The extraction grid may be electrically floating or coupled to a ground potential during either of the electron extraction step or the ion extraction step.

  • Publication number: 20250259494
Abstract: A technique for controlling access to one or more attractions is achieved using a number of access keys, each being issued to one or more users. An electronic queue management part manages a virtual queue in respect of each attraction and receives electronic requests for attraction access, each request relating to an access key and being for the users associated with it to access a particular attraction. Receipt of each request causes the respective users to be added to a corresponding virtual queue. A time at which each group of users reaches the front of the virtual queue and can access the attraction is determined. The users access the attractions by presenting an access key to an access control part, in communication with the electronic queue management part. Only a user presenting an access key at the correct time for accessing the attraction is allowed access to the attraction.

  • Patent number: 12385390
Abstract: Systems and methods for communicating information acoustically through a plug in a temporarily or permanently abandoned well. The disclosed embodiments use an acoustically transmissive well plug, where an acoustic transmitter coupled to a measurement tool below the plug is coupled to the plug In a manner that is intended to maximize the coupling of the generated acoustic signals to the plug. These signals are then transmitted through the acoustically transmissive plug to an acoustic receiver that is coupled to the upper end of the plug. The acoustic receiver converts the acoustic signals to another form if necessary and forwards the signals to equipment at the surface of the well, or to intermediate transceivers that can relay the signals to the surface.

  • Patent number: 12385255
Abstract: A vent is disclosed for use in ventilating attic spaces beneath a hip roof. The vent is configured to be installed along a hip of the roof overlying and covering a ventilation slot. The vent includes an elongated laterally flexible top panel from which baffle arrays depend. The baffle arrays include a plurality of curved vanes that arc away from the slot. The vanes are configured to redirect wind-blown rain and snow away from the slot and block the migration of rain and snow through the vent. Filler strips can be attached beneath the edge portions of the vent. The filler strips conform to underlying shingles when the vent is installed to fill gaps that might be formed between the vent and the shingles. A weather filter can be positioned over some of the baffle arrays to allow attic air to pass but prevent ingress of blown snowflakes and raindrops.

  • Patent number: 12388647
Abstract: Embodiments for device pairing using optical codes are described. One embodiment is a wearable device with an image sensor configured to capture an image including a first optical code from a first host device. The wearable device decodes the first optical code, and in response to the first optical code, initiates broadcast of a pairing advertisement. The host device displays a second optical code in response to the pairing advertisement, and the wearable device captures and processes the second optical code to determine a host pairing advertisement code. The wearable device then, in response to the second optical code, initiate broadcast of a second pairing advertisement including the host pairing advertisement code. In various embodiments, a secure wireless channel is then established and used for further secure communications.
