    Abstract: A direct coupled switched mode power supply designed for the AC to DC power conversion in for example CAT TV systems and equipment. The power supply is constructed to have a conversion efficiency of between 85 and 90%. It achieves these efficiencies by utilizing a pulse transformer having a duty cycle of greater than 50% in conjunction with an output control circuit, a driver circuit and an output filter circuit all designed to work together to effect increased efficiency.
